This is by far the best clothing store in all of Irvine. The fad of dressing poor while paying an arm and leg is just fabulous. To a keen observer, the style is to look poor and raggedy. However, to a even more keen observer, you'd notice that the fabric and fit are exceptionally good. Almost like vintage, or hand me down clothing. It feels snug in all the right places and loose in the most appropriate place. But unlike vintage, the clothes aren't off the body of a dead homeless person.
Right next door to South Coast, Metro Point has all the other stores that you might be interested in looking at if you are tired of window shopping at the more expensive South Coast. Here, you have your tupperware store, discount clothiers, and movie theatre with attached fast food resturants.
This is my favorite store to go to at any mall like environment. I think UO singlehandedly brought back the "dress like you're a poor bum" look and pay twice as much. But, the style is to die for. The tee's there are all wickedly funny and hip. Be sure to browse the book selection that they have there. I'm sure you would find something of interest even if you are illiterate.
Cal Adventures is pretty fun for the older crowd given the different type of rides that they have. My favorite would be the musicals and the IMAX style flight simulator ride. You can smell the citris fruit when you go to the california orange groves. Amazing! Barral O fun for all!
This is a good location to spend a weekend day because it's so close to a lot of cool locations (balboa island, newport pier, the penisula area, the crab shack). Though the place is a bit dirty and the smell of restroom is pretty predominant, this place is still a lot of fun. There are little rides for the kids and tasty (cleanlines??) food. It would keep your children occupied for the rest of the day.
I went here looking to buy some blinds for my windows and these people knew their stuff. If you want to go to a specialty store that is very knowledgeable in their craft and not just hire some random lackeys, this is the place to go. They have a wide selection of blinds that would do a person who is into blinds very proud. And if that person was blind, they would be proud of the store too.
This is a good store to go to if you want to buy custom wood shutters for your home. They have all kinds of nuanced selections and custom fittings. The automated wooden shutters are the best. The customer service is top notch.
Koh;'s is very affordable for members, especially when you sign up for their membership program online. The goods there are quite hip for teens and adults alike. This particular location is quite large and organized. The layout is pretty easy to figure out. Normally during sales, this store is a bargain.
I go to Dr. Wu for all my eye care needs. She seems quite competant and I haven't had any problems with my contacts or glasses. She gives me sight. Who would be upset at someone who gives you sight? That's right, so go here. The frame selection is quite large and can get pricey. But the staff is very friendly.
This store is very low key and quiet. The staff go out of their way to help you find what you need. I'm impressed with the helpfulness and customer service. There are some good prices for goods that are on sale. But retail can be a little pricey.
