This is a wonderful place to go for organic and natural foods, which is very important these days, with all the hormones and pesticides in most of our food. The Capitol Hill store is new and very nice. As a grocery store, some products are a bit pricey, but for a natural and organic foods store, the prices are actually decent. Please shop here for your own nutritional health, and to support local organic farmers - the more support they get, the less we'll have to pay for better food.
This is such an awesome pet store! They have all kinds of animals - fish, birds, rotents, reptiles, kittens, cuddlies - and they are all high quality and healthy. It's a fun place to go just for a visit, or a great place to go if you're looking to purchase a new pet, and the staff is very friendly.
The AMC movie theater in Pacific Place, Down Town Seattle, has nice auditoriums, good sound and picture, top box office movies, they even sell beer! However, I warn you, if you are considering seeing a movie that has been recently released (probably first week or two), and especially if it's less than an R rating, be prepared for numerous adolescants to talk, get up and down, leave and return, kick your seat, and display general disrespect for others, throughout the entire show. It's also one of the most expensive theaters in town.
PROS: nice ambiance, comfortable seats, good sound and picture
CONS: rude patrons
I go out of my way to get an oil change from the Grease Monkey in Shoreline. They are very quick, they tell you if something needs to be replaced, even if it's something they don't do! They'll give you a good recommendation for where to get it taken care of, if you ask. One employee I spoke with said he likes to make it clear to others that he works for a franchise store - not corporate Grease Monkey. The mechanics here pride themselves in customer service, which, in this business especially, includes honesty and integrity. They understand that a loyal following is better in the long run than a bad rep from ripping people off. If you want to keep your car running smoothly, without significant detriment to your wallet, visit the Shoreline Grease Monkey every 3,000 miles.
I'm actually not familiar with the Seattle Half Price Books, but I know the one in Redmond is fantastic; I'm sure they're all good. What a chain! They have a pretty vast selection, and they're so cheap! If you haven't been, you definitely need to go.
