Although they like to portray the image as a cheaper store where you can gte cheap CDs, I do not reccomend going here. Sure you can trade in your old CDs, but they only give you a few bucks for each one. Music trader is too much like Warehouse music for my tastes. Also, Best Buy has better prices.
I went to Lou's records for a meet and greet and eat of one of my favorite bands, Thrice. I loved it there,. The store has a nice atmosphere and a lot of free swag such as sampler CDs and posters. The prices are better than anywhere else, and the selection is better than anywhere else in town.
I, personally love chocolate and candies, especially Sees' butterscotch lollipops, but they seem to be getting more and more expensive. If you just want to stop in for a few bites of chocolate or sweets, i recommend going there, but not for large orders. A great gift for that special someone on valentines day or their birthday.
The gaslamp quarter has grown to be the hot spot for San Diego nightlife. They have nice attractiions such as hazard center, Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, and Fumar, a hookah bar. There are also many nice restaurants and not to mention Petco Park. It is easilly accesible via the trolley.
When I firs heard about Ground Zero opening in El Cajon I thought it would not be the best palce because of the local. Boy was i wrong! This is definitely the best venue I have been to. They have a full on cafe in the back with reasonably priced food and drinks, and a nice bathroom, ice-cold water fountains and carpet. The acoustics are also second to none.
Soma is great because they book good shows, however it gets EXTREMELY hot in there! I recommend buying some water in between performances, so brign a few extra bucks. Also it is super crowded usually. Other than that it is fun. I saw Thrice there and t was one of the best shows I've been to.
If you ever need to get something copied (such as homework) for any reason, Kinkos is the place to go. They have excellent prices. I also got my passport pictures taken here and they turned out great. They have quick and efficient forms of payment with little cards you can put cash on and get however many copies you want.
The fair has some pretty nice rides and exhibits to check out. I really enjoy the rides. I recommend getting a ride bracelet so you can get unlimited rides for about $15. If you want to, you can also try your luck on the boardwalk, but good luck. There are delicious foods to eat too. Try the cinnamon rolls.
If you want to get the cheapest prices on everything from 97 cent key copying to fishing worms, walmart is the place to go. It is also quite entertaining to see the rednecks walking around. They also have very good snack food for excellent prices such as chocolates pudding packs of four for $1. What a deal!
I like to visit F street about once a week to check the new inventory. The locals at the register know me as "dirty dave". Oh wait, thats just my fantasy. In reality, this place is freakin disgusting and I recommend not going there. You might catch an STD. Remember to use protection upon entering the store.
