In the great world of technology, which I love, there are so many wonderful services to choose from. Unfortunately, I decided to try AT&T Callvantage, in order to have phone service over my internet connection and save some money. Oh, what a horrible mistake that was!!!
Not only did the service not work... I spent months without working service. They decided to continue charging me for services they were not providing. I spent countless hours on a pay phone, talking to their technical support representatives, who, obviously, were not knowledgeable enough to correct the problem. I got promises that were unfullfilled through email from their company... they didn't even report my problem to the technical suppot department, and told me they were sending me out a new adaptor, which was completely untrue!
I just got off the phone with their very rude representative, and told them that I will definitely be voicing my opinion about their terrible service.
Morgan's Bakery in Tahlequah always brings back pleasant childhood memories. I'm in my thirties now, and it has been there from as long ago as I can remember. That definitely says something about their company! Even as an adult, just walking in front of their store, you can't help but go in! They have such beautiful delicasies, and you can smell them from outside! They make fresh donuts, pasteries and bread every single morning, absolutely delicious! And another great thing that hasn't changed over the years is they still have wonderful prices!
PROS: Well established and loved in Tahlequah!
El Charro Mexican Restuarant in Tahlequah is hyped up to be so much more than they actually are. I've been there on a few occasions on dates. Their prices are higher than those of other similar restaurants, and their food is not great. Their cheese enchiladas, my favorite Mexican food, taste like they came out of a can. Definitely not worth their higher prices.
CONS: Overpriced, food not that great
The Wood Shoppe in Tahlequah has been in business for close to thirty years! Owned by Micheal Paine, this place does amazing woodwork of all kinds! They specialize in cabinets, but they will do so much more, even build houses! If you have a special request, you can call, and they will do an amazing job, at a much lower price than other businesses. Every time I've been in that shop, I am amazed at the beautiful creations they make!
PROS: Well established, trustworthy business
I really enjoy going into the Community Thrift Store in Tulsa. They have such a huge variety of items... clothing, household goods, even furniture, and all at very low prices! They have a special on Thursdays where Senior Citizens get a discount on all purchases. This is really, in my opinion, the best priced thrift store in the entire Tulsa area. Especially great if you're just starting out on your own, or stocking up on play clothes for the kids! The only downside, like a lot of thrift stores, they're not completely organized, and the store looks a little dirty inside.
PROS: Great prices and awesome selection
CONS: Inside appearance of store isn't great
If you love Mexican food, you should definitely try Monterey's Tex Mex in Tulsa!!! Their queso is to die for!!! My sister and I love to go there just for the queso!!! But you can get great deals on all of your favorite Mexican food! It is all delicious, and they offer fast, friendly, professional service!!! It's a great place to have dinner with friends, or even a date night. They have domestic and Mexican beer, marguaritas, as well as many other drink options. Also a fun place to go for birthdays... they'll bring you a free desert and sing Happy Birthday in Spanish!
PROS: Wonderful food! Fast service if you're needing a quick lunch
CONS: long wait for seating on weekends
I would recommend the Mend Crisis Pregnancy Center to anyone who thinks they may be pregnant, especially those in crisis situations, where they don't have much of a support system. The women who work for the Pregnancy Centers are volunteers, trained to help you deal with the outcome of your test, whether it is positive or negative. They start by offering a free pregnancy test to anyone who walks in the door. They do not discriminate against anyone. This is a Christian based organization. They will pray with you and help you meet any and all needs in your life, not just in your pregnancy. They will help you find free counseling, and they will offer you alternatives to abortion. If you're in need of items to care for yourself or your baby to be, they will help you in any way possible. I went there for a free pregnancy test several years ago, and was overwhelmed with the love and support they offered me. They are genuinely wonderful people.
PROS: They will help with any needs
Parkside in Tulsa is the state funded facility for patients who pay based on their income level. They offer emergency hospitalization, inpatient and outpatient therapy, groups of all kinds, a 24 hour emergency number and more. They even offer psychiatric care based on your income, and will provide your medications for free if you can't afford them. I have known many people who have gone to Parkside, both inpatient and outpatient. I attended therapy there after the death of a friend, and the care I received was outstanding. They really care about their patients' needs, and treat you as a valuable person. Everyone, from the reception area, to the psychiatrist, is so very friendly. They make you feel comfortable instantly. It's not an easy thing to go somewhere for therapy, but they make it as comfortable and beneficial as possible. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
PROS: Emergency inpatient/outpatient care, fees based on income
My Place Bar BQ in Tahlequah is a wonderful place for the entire family! They have a huge selection of items that even the kids enjoy! They cater to families, which is wonderful for those of us with young kids, that we don't want to always take to the nice restaurants. They offer a huge nightly buffet, for a wonderful price, and I guarantee you won't leave there hungry! Not only do they have the traditional barbecue offerings, they have a large variety of vegetables, french fries and more! If you're hungry and in the mood for a large, hearty meal, this is a great place to go!
PROS: Huge selection, kids welcome!
Bandido's Restaurant has been around for about as long as I can remember in Tahlequah, and it's always been everyone's favorite place for authentic Mexican food, great drinks and great service! You can order just about anything you can imagine on their fantastic menu, and it is always mouth watering and delicious! The only problem I have ever had there is on one visit, when I saw a roach climbing on the wall right next to my table... I got pretty grossed out, but out of hundreds of visits, that's the only one I didn't enjoy.
PROS: Awesome food and service!
