A fun place to go - my mom took me here for my birthday one year. We had a great time and enjoyed getting our pieces back a few days later. On another occasion, I picked up a platter and paints to set up at our wedding for people to sign. The staff was helpful. I highly recommend visiting this shop and others near it in this cute town.
This is a good place to grab a latte' in the morning (they are fast), a great place to hold a casual meeting with a couple of people (the atmosphere is relaxing). However, I find the coffee to be too bitter for my taste (just a personal preference) and once after having the frozen yogurt, I got very very sick. It could have been something else, but this was the prime suspect! Probably an old batch in the machine.
I would not recommend this place for a baby. Our baby has a lot of hair (most don't), so he had to get a cut at six months. The place was very cute and he ended up with a good haircut. However, since he wasn't old enough to sit up in one of the cute wooden train or airplane seats, we sat on the teenage side of the salon (The Edge) where it wasn't cute and loud music was playing. Next, the stylist sprayed his hair with tonic spray (instead of just water) and it had such a strong smell that he started crying. Next, the stylist combed and combed through his hair without being careful of his cradle cap, so he kept on crying. Next, she texturized his hair. Why does a 6 month old need texturizing? As a result his hair isn't as soft as it was. Finally, they give you a lock of hair for the first haircut which is nice, except, it just looks like a bunch of little scraps picked up off the floor rather than a nice lock of hair to keep in the baby book.
Not only are the foods great tasting, the prices cannot be beat. I don't even bother buying salsa anywhere else. Trader Joe's is usually three dollars cheaper - and it tastes better. I load up on their Honey Mustard chips, vegetarian burgers, spanish rice, chocolate covered pretzels - the list goes on and on. Wonderful and fun place to shop.
I could browse around this store for an hour or so, looking at everything. It is an outstanding place to find a gift - a housewarming gift, baby gift, stocking stuffers, etc. I find things to accessorize the bathroom, kitchen and dining room.
This is good location near lots of other shops and restaurants.
I took a beginning knitting class here and had a great instructor. The yarns here are beautiful and even more beautifully displayed on the main floor on an old house. They have samples on display and the staff is helpful. The location is not terribly convenient unless you are living on Queen Anne. It is worth going just for the experience.
After, Cougar West left the downtown area, I was so disappointed and could not find good WSU items anywhere except University Bookstore (Husky territory). When Cougar Connections came along, I was so excited. However, the selection of clothing is very limited and it is very expensive. It is more golfer type of clothing than fan type of clothing. They do have other items besides clothes which make nice gifts.
After noticing the very expensive prices on jeans ($175) and shirts near the front of the store, I headed to the back of the store, where I found a sale rack. I found some cute shirts, but the price tags still weren't worth it for the time I would be wearing maternity clothes. I felt that this store was for the very well off and rich. I only wish other maternity stores carried items just as cute.
I could spend hours in this store and I am an adult. I found many of the toys I enjoyed as a child. Any age would have fun in this place. There are crafts, stuffed animals, learning toys, puzzles, kites, marbles and on and on. The staff is very nice and parking is easy.
Everything in this shop is absolutely beautiful. I found the dresses and fabrics/designs to be quite unique which was appealing to me. However, I was ultimately not able to consider getting a dress here due to the budget I was on for the wedding. Also, I had a short engagement and there wouldn't have been time to have anything custom made. I found the staff to be a bit stuck up and not very helpful in my limited encounter with them.
PROS: Beautiful, unique
CONS: Expensive, staff - not helpful
