City Bites
This is a very cute place to take your kids or teens. This place is filled with unique things such as a 1 way window in both bathrooms. You can see them but they cant see you but it looks like they so first time visitors may be a bit startled.
While your there make usre you try the Giant Cookies they are soooo good. My fave. is the lemon and choc/peanut butter cookies. You also get a free drink when you bring your church bulliten!!!
Robbers Cave Recreation
We used to go here for church camp every year. This was a former hideout for bank robbers. You can walk trails and do lots of cave exploring.The park and adjoining wildlife management area offers acres of discovery and enjoyment including caves, trout fishing in season, boating, hunting, trails for hikers and horses, sandstone cliffs for climbing and rappelling, and fall foliage viewing.
Turner falls
This a great park up in the Arbuckle mountains. Lots of great swiimming wholes and streams to play in and ahuge 77 foot waterfall.There is a park fee and they do have a gift shop and a snack bar but they are kin of expensive.
Martin Park Nature Center & Trail
This a great nature park thats free to get in.They have lots of hiking trails and wildlife to see. Check out the prarie dogs and the inside reptile nature center. You can also have Birthday parties here for FREE!!!!!!
Gloss Mountain State Park
Make sure you bring plenty of sunscreen when visiting this place. You will start at the bottom and hike up to the top of this tall sparkling mountain.Our kids had so much climbing!Here is a few details about this place:
A recreational-educational park that is accessible for hiking and picnicking from sunrise to sunset. Facilities include a restroom, picnic pavilions, picnic tables, grills, public water supply, handicap trail to historical marker, and a hiking trail from base parking lot to the top of Cathedral Mountain and across the mesa to view the valley floor and Lone Peak Mountain. Points of interest include land geography, geological formations, selenite gypsum, scenery and wildlife. This range is also known as the Glass Mountains.
Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge
This a great family vacation spot that is very cheap. You can rent a cabin and everything to do around here is free. Take the kids on a drive through wildlife park and go fishing at a kids only pond.Dont forget to bring your buckets and shovels and plenty of water, sunscreen and play clothes so you can dig for crystals. If your a bird watcher this is a great place for you to!!!
Crystal Bridge Reno & Robinson
The crystal bridge is located in downtown OKC. Its a great way to go on a relaxing walk through lush gardens and flowers. They have few creatures to look at as well. Don't forget to bring bread to feed the ducks and fish outside in the pond.They also have a great giftshop too.
Oklahoma City Zoological Park
The Oklahoma city zoo is one of the best zoo's around.Its always clean and they are always renovating to make it bigger and better. In July they have.75 Wednesdays. Admission and tram rides are .75 and so are drinks and hotdogs!!
Larsen Music Co
Larsens has been around along time.They are well known and the staff is friendly. They are located by NW expressway which has alot of traffic though.They have a great music selection and can help you find what they don't.
The Old Ball Park
The Old Ball park had been around for over 30 years I believe. The staff is friendly and they have lots to choose from. As a kid I collected baseball and non sports cards and I would always come here to trade and buy my Beckett magazines!!!
