Gorgeous flower arrangements, orchids, plants. Fast, reliable delivery. Friendly staff. I've been using this company for a few years now and on the rare occasion there have been problems, they have always gone above and beyond to correct them.
I received a birthday cake from this company and loved it so much, I started using them for all my corporate and personal gifts. The pastries are unbelievable, made from top of the line ingredients, and are beautifully packaged in keepsake boxes.
Top of the line all around.
Quality papers, stationery, gift wrap, organza ribbon, etc. It's a little pricey but that's Brentwood for you. I'd say the store's products are geared more toward an older, conservative crowd -- i.e., if you're looking to buy gifts or gift wrap for a teenager's birthday party this probably isn't the place for you. (Unless of course that teenager likes fleur de lis..)
Good selection of artists supplies. Average prices but there are sales fairly often. Also carries a great selection of unique gift items (picture frames, note cards) and specialty papers.
Caveat: if you park in the adjacent Von's lot, a security guard might hassle you.
Entering this store is literally like... well, being a kid in a candy store. An old fashioned candy store with items that register high on the nostalgia scale (Mary Jane candies, for example). Great place for gifts and a refreshing change from supermarket point of purchase items (I love Skittles as much as the next person, but it's nice to have an Atomic Fireball every once in awhile).
Another rave review. The food here is fantastic & the portions are gigantic. Wine is self-serve, using an honor system. Starting at around 8pm or so, the staff sings to That's Amore while toasting patrons. Arrive early -- there's always a crowd waiting outside. But to help pass the time, a server passes out garlic rolls to waiting patrons :)
Healthy California Mexican food with generous portions and decent prices. Serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. Fun, casual atmosphere.. lots of families with young kids in the early evenings. Friendly servers. There's also a second location just south of 26th & San Vicente in Santa Monica.
I could spend all day in this two-story, warehouse of a store. They've got everything: new/used CD's, DVDs, posters. vinyl, imports, you name it. The only drawback is the return policy. Exchange only.
Great prices and a wide selection of appliances, which is especially convenient if you're purchasing a new home and need multiple items. Delivery & installation are offered on most items, too.
I made the mistake of doing business with these people. They screwed up the alteration of my dress, denied any problem and refused to correct it. (I ended up having to hire someone else to fix it). The manager was the rudest person I've ever met -- arguing with me and at one point even yelling.
I later learned through bridal forums about the tag ripping and other shady practices this business uses. WIsh i'd known that beforehand. They also have an unsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau.
Do yourselves a favor and run, don't walk, to another store.
