Salvation Army Family Store
This Salvation Army houses anything they might label vintage or antique. It's a little pricier, but you don't have to hop from store to store to sift through the junk. I highly recommend this store if you're looking for more quality furniture, clothing or household goods.
American Way Thrift Store
You may find some good deals here. The selection is huge. It's one of the biggest thrift stores in the area. They have loads of stock from clothing, to household goods but it's not well organized, so be ready to hunt. They have discount Sundays as well as discounts for seniors.
Pantages Theatre
I'm so glad the Pantages became home of the latest hits from Broadway. It offers a venue where these shows can have long runs and Los Angeles folks can enjoy them without the expensive vacation to the opposite coast.
United Artists Theater
This movie theater has been closed to build a Tiffany's in it's place. The closest movie theatre to Old Town is the Pacific Theatre located at Paseo Colorado.
AMC Burbank 16
16 stadium theatres in one place offers a great deal of selection of movies and movie times. This new facility has a HUGE women's restroom (which cuts out waiting in line) stadium seating, great sound and clean, comfortable theatres.
Academy 6 Theaters
It's kind of sad, like a neglected dog once it's no longer a puppy. It needs a little love and attention, because it still has so much to offer. With a cheap movie price and a great selection of end-of-run films, it's definitely worth checking out.
Pacific Paseo Stadium 14
Located just east of Old Town Pasadena, you can count on them to play all your latest releases. With stadium seating and a great sound system, this newer theatre is the place to go.
Laemmle Theatres Playhouse 7
I love Laemmles for the variety. It's the only theatre you can count on to have those limited-release indies on the east side of LA. I'm not a fan of the small theatres with the awkwardly placed screens, but I guess that's often the best you'll get when trying to find that hard-to-catch film.
Pacific's Grove Stadium 14
Located in the Grove Shopping Center, you can count on them to play all your latest releases. With stadium seating and a great sound system, this newer theatre is the place to go.
Paseo Colorado Shopping Ctr
The shopping is good, but the selection of restaurants and entertainment makes this a great meeting place near Old Town Pasadena. With anything from Chinese to pub food to a funky wine bar, and an excellent movie theatre as well, this place is a great destination on a Friday or Saturday night.
