Marriott's Grand Hotel located on Mobile Bay is a wonderful hotel. The scenic view alone is worth it. But there is so much more. The recently renovated pool is family perfect. The younger kiddies have all sorts of splash fountains. They LOVE it. you can stroll along the marina and admire some truly lovely boats. There is a gold course that my Father in Law says in wonderful. You can rent a bike as well. Food is wonderful. Rooms are luxury. Get a cabana is you can. A true get away on Mobile Bay.
If you are looking for a good rate on a basic run of the mill room then this is a very good choice. It's on 98 so it's easy to get to every thing in the little town of Fairhope. There is a free breakfast bar that was well stocked. It's just fruits, cold cereals and baked goods however. No hot food! If you need warm you can walk to Bureger King just over the parking lot. The pool has slightly odd hours, but was clean on our visit. Rooms are clean and kept well.
Easily the top notch Bed and Breakfast in the area. It is perfectly located in downtown Fairhope. They have a private courtyard providing an intimate feel for your special event. The little white lights are just the right touch. This is a truly magical place for a special event like a wedding reception or wedding rehearsal dinner. Outside there are screened in porches, while inside has a nice glassed in patio. The decor is tasteful and not overly cutesy as some B and B can be. The rooms are large and comfortable. This is the very best Bed and Breakfast in the area. I recommend it to all incoming guests looking for an intimate special place to stay. You won't be disappointed.
Utnil the legal battles are over this State Park Resort is in fact closed. It was a great place and very reasonable when open. The Family Dinners on the beach were a blast. But don't count on this being open for 2005 or even 2006. Too bad, I kinda liked it there!
Don't let the name fool you. This is NOT the sickly sweet baggy dresses with big lace collars your momma wore! This store has some styling maternity wear. In all honesty I walked past the store and went in just due to the window display. Once inside I realized it was maternity! Prices are slightly above average, but worth it. Staff is very pleasant. The store is stocked well but not overly crowded. Will return again in the future for gifts for moms to be. Easy access parking from the street front.
One thing I love about this post office. They ALWAYS have stickers for my children. Always. The lines can be long (like all post offices) and the parking lot can be difficult if people don't know what they are doing. But the staff is funny and kind. They go out of their way to help out if their is a problem. I go to this office over all others in the area. Clean building.
They have the cutest things in this shop. And very high quality. There is (obviously) a monogramming service as well, but they have premade stuff as well. Staff is very professional and fun to be around. Location in lovely downtown Fairhope. Good prices, clean store.
Oh WOW! This is the most lovely place for weddings/special events. The rooms are furnished in beautiful antiques. The staff is very helpful during ceremonies and receptions. There is nice huge area upstairs for dressing. The mansion comes at a pretty steep price but if you have your heart set on an Antebellum Mansion for your wedding or special event then this is the place to go!
I went to local meeting in hopes of finding a nice supportive group as I found nursing to not be as readily acceptable to some family members. I was basically told I was a bad mother for noth sleeping with my child. To me the group was mean spirited and made me uncomfortable. I gave them a 3 star because I know some women need this. Luckily, I didn't! The location meeting was hard to find, but ok. Staff on phone wasn't very helpful either. Thankfully I was able to nurse over a year without LLC's help!
I had my last two babies here. I had a birthing suite for one child and a planned c-section for my third. The birthing suite was a bit small but comfy. I truly only recovered in here from my stat section. The planned section areas needs to be e-thought. I felt like I was just part of a never ending line. Very small curtained off areas with about 6 women in a not large room. We deserve a nice room to recover in as well! Also, privacy in this situation is well, not there. My son was wisked away to NICU and I had to endure 1.5 hours of listening to ther families ooooh and ahhh over there perfectly healthy newborns. That was REALLY hard. The post partum ward is nice... though again, I wish they had an area for moms who don't have their babies. It's hard to be around newborn when your is fighting for his life. Staff was a mixutre of excellent and downright awful. The NICU on the otherhand... is SO good. They are a level IV NICU and can handle micropreemies. The care my son got was wonderful. The staff was helpful and always willing to sit and talk us through procudres and equimpment. They didn't mind me staying there until 1 a.m. They were wonderful people who saved my son's life. When they thought we might have to transfer to Cooks for a specail vent I was terrifed at the thought of leaving Harris, they worked it out so we could stay there instead. NICU reunions are lots of fun as well. I can't say enough good stuff about them.
