We lived nearby these apartments and had friends that lived in them. I visited many manyh times. I must say from what my firend said, and what I saw... this place was satisfactory at best. They do offer shorter term leases. But the buildings are older and it shows. It took quite a while to get anything fixed as well. If you had to do something short term I'd go here, otherwise skip it.
The main branch is really nice. All kinds of areas to spread out into. Big indoor pool, lots of classes. Locker area is wonderful. The prices are nearing the high mark but Ok. Parking is downtown and not too bad, there is a free lot available for use, otherwise park on the street with a meter. LOTS of stairs (don't bring the stroller). Staff is very friendly and downright funny.
This group took care of me in my second pregnancy. Nancy Jo was my midwife. I must say I was VERY impressed. With CNMW you have a hospital birth with options of pain relief etc... but much more personal. In the end I high a preterm birth (c-section) and a baby in NICU. Even though it was a c-section the midwife on call stayed with me throughout the surgery and recovery. She went with the baby to NICU and visited him every day. The care I got was beyond outstanding. I was heartbroken when I was considered high risk for my third pregnancy and unable to keep using them. If you are looking for a more personal level birth experience but feel you might need an epi or need to be near a NICU this is an excellent group to use!
My neighbor worked here for a while, the first oil change we did was a free one from them, as they needed to train people! I really like being able to stay in my car while they did the oil change...that is quite a GREAT thing when you have very very small children. The prices were always great and coupons came in that mail about every 12 weeks. Location is very easy to find and convienent (well except at rush hour!) Manager was nice and professional. Good work.
Only got to attend one show in this theater. It was a puppet production for the children. The theater was clean and well maintaned. The parking lot was huge and easy to get in and out of. The staff was very helpful, even with hundreds of screaming first graders running amuck! The theater does have other shows and I hear wonderful things about them.
This is such a fun goup to watch. They are quite talented and work very hard on their productions. This is not, in my opinion, your typical smaller town SIP. It's well directed and rehearsed lots! Check the paper for the next presentation. Take along a blanket and some wine and you'll have quite the date night!
We saw this group perform a number of times. They were always very good. My understanding is that basically parents enroll their kids in this program. They practice weekly and then have concerts etc. It sounded like a lot of fund for the children involoved. Not sure what their fee for performing is... but they are good! The home of the choir is easy to locate and seems like a nice building.
I was expecting more out of this store from the rave reviews I had from friends. The store was SO hot. I was about to pass out I was so hot. The stuff they had was pretty nice, but they didn't have as much as I expected. I might have just gone at a very picked over time of the month, not sure. The girl behind the counter looked beyond miserable with the heat. We dropped off a water bottle from the car for her... this made her smile at least! Give it a try if you are in the mood to thrift shop... maybe you'll hit a better time than I did. Location may be a bit hard if you don't know they area... might want to call for directions. They won't be difficult to follow!
We attended a birthday party here. I was STUNNED at how much they cost... but at the same time, it might be worth it. The staff was energetic and very watchful of the kids. You had to meet an age requirment before you could do the rock wall. Dress up was fun for my dd and sons. The huge Legos seemed to be their favorite. There is even a little toddler area... but they might want to look into bleaching that area a bit more. A fun place to beat the heat.
NRH20 is such a great idea for city park to me! The lines DO get long... but get a season pass, go early and leave early... beat the crowds. Sonic is just down the road to pick up lunch. Chik-fil-a has a set up there as well. Worth every penney and much better than the money spent at Hurrican Harbor for families with younger kids.
