The Drug barn is a really easy store to get into since there is ample parking available. The store itself isn't particularly attractive, but it generally makes up for that in the low prices. I've consistantly found that they carry more brands than are seen in other drug store chains. It never seems to be busy, so getting though the checkout line is very easy. By the same token, I haven't seen many employees around, so if you need help you will probably have to search for someone to get it.
Oakridge Mall is a very pleasant place to shop. It is always very clean and attractive and just walking through is nice. One of the particularly fun features of this mall is the Carousel available outside for children to ride. There is an open area around it that kids can run around and play in; which can be very valuable to moms who have been dragging their bored children store to store for an hour or more.
The food court is very large and has a large variety of food so everyone can find something they like on their budget. Also in the food court area is Century 20 Theaters.
I highly recommend this mall.
Westgate isn't a big fancy mall with the high end stores like you would find at Valley Fair, but it is a handy place to go for more affordable clothing. The mall features, Old Navy, Target, Burlington Coat Factory and Nordstrom Rack. There is also a large Barnes & Noble store, Starbucks, Johnny Rockets, Michaels, and Safeway among other smaller stores. I enjoy shopping here, as it tends to be a one-stop-shopping place for me.
This is probably the best Big Lots store I've encountered. It is fairly large and easy to find whatever you are looking for. There is a very good supply of toys for children of all ages and the discounts are wonderful. The clothing department is very large for this kind of store. I especially like the personal care section for the variety of products, brands, and the great prices. The aisles can be crowed, but it is usually not too bad. Stock changes all the time, but its not as bad at this one as it can be at others.
I generally like Big Lots stores, but this one just didn't meet my expectations. I know that this chain of stores tends to be kind of "warehousy" but the one in Campbell is worse than most. Their prices are very good, but it can be hard to find what you are looking for because everything is rather unorganized. It is hard to get through the aisles due to piles of boxes of merchandise that it seems they ran out of shelves for. All in all, I'll be choosing a different Big Lots store in the future.
PROS: Good prices
CONS: Disorganized store
Macy's is a great place to go for clothing, cosmetics, accessories, and home decor. The store can be kind of pricey, but the product quality is definately high. If you shop the sales, you can get some really great deals on great clothes. The Valley Fair Macy's is divided into 2 seperate store, Macy's Women and Macy's Men and Children.
Since these stores are in the mall, parking is more than adequate. The restrooms are always very classy and clean.
Vallco used to be a good mall, but over the last 5 years or so, it has been dying. Stores have been leaving one by one, so that now the entire bottom floor is emply. It is rather depressing. I heard recently that it's under new ownership and is being renovated, but I think that it is in for a long road back. You can still go there for Macy's, JC Penny and Sears, though. I do hope that the mall can be revived, but until then, I wouldn't bother.
Once Upon A Child is a wonderful place to shop for your young children if you are on a budget. They carry gently used clothing, toys, furniture and supplies. Babies and toddlers go through clothes so fast that is seems ridiculous to pay $15-$50 or more for an item that will only be worn a few times. This store only takes clothing that is still in great shape and their prices are great! They even have a rack or two for maturnity clothes. This is an especially great place to go for special occasion outfits that will only be worn once. Check it out!
The first time I rode Amtrak, I was quite surprised at how much fun it was. Seating is very comfortable and if you need extra space, the lower level is great. It was really nice to be able to sit back, relax, and just enjoy watching the world go by without having to deal with traffic. The rates are very reasonable. If you need something to eat, there is a small snack bar available on one of the middle cars. I recommend bringing your own food, though, since the prices are a bit on the high side.
The bathrooms aren't great, but at least you don't have to pull off the road and find a gas station where you have no idea what you might be walking into.
If you are looking for a Baptist church with lots of programs in place and wonderful, friendly people, this is a great place for you to check out. First Baptist, Los Altos is a large church nestled in the hills of Los Altos. There are sunday school classes for every member of the family and many extra curricular activities available to help you meet new people and make new friends. The Sunday morning music is great, and special events are very high calliber.
