Culver Ralph B Dds
What a great dental office! My kids get wonderful care here and Dr. Culver and his staff treats them well. they have a table with books to read, a tv with cartoons on and a fish tank in the waiting area. It's small, but I've never had to wait long nor have there been many people in at the same time.
My kids are not scared to go here unlike some of the other dentists that they've been to. While they get their teeth cleaned, the staff talks to them and helps them feel at ease. There is a real parrot they can look at and some windows in front of the dental chairs.
A warm and welcoming dentist!!
Swedish Hospital
I delivered my terminally ill son at Swedish and the NICU took great care of him until he was transferred to Children's Hospital. The waiting room was a tad small near the NICU and there wasn't a lot to do. The nurses were gentle and the doctors helpful.
I had a nice room during delivery but they transferred me to another room since my son had to be in the NICU. The room they put me in was not that nice and thankfully I didn't have to share it though there was a place for another mom.
I visited again when I had some preterm labor and a procedure to keep my next baby healthy. The nurses were kind in the Maternity ward and this time I was in a nice room the whole time.
The food is ok but a little pricey if your spouse is staying all day and overnight with you.
Parking is not free unless you are a patient.
PROS: Great services!
CONS: Expect to pay for parking in the parking garage
Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital and Health Center Multicare
My oldest daughter had an outpatient surgery done here. It was a nice hospital but felt the care was lacking. We waited a long time for the surgery to take place and all the while found little to do. The did have a small playroom, but it didn't keep my other kids from getting bored fairly quickly. There were no vending machines close by and my husband had to find a place to eat outside of the hospital that was within walking distance. Parking was confusing and the hospital wasn't exactly easy to find my way through.
I'm sure it's better in other areas in this hospital, but I didn't think the outpaient services were that great.
Childrens Hospital & Regional Medical Center
This hospital is the best hospital I have ever visited. The staff, nurses and doctors took great care of my terminally sick son. The were all so friendly and they treated my family with respect and compassion.
The heart surgeon, Dr. Lester Permut, that worked on my son is the best and he is also very personal. He explains things well and shows a deep sense of commitment in trying to do the best that he can possibly do. He even performed surgery on my son on Christmas Eve morning.
The NICU is clean and I felt safe leaving my baby boy there every night. I can not say enough nice things about the nurses that took care of my baby. They really go above and beyond help you feel at ease even in the hardest situations.
They gave me free meals since I was breastfeeding and that helped so much with the cost of having our son there for so long. The food was excellent and it was nice to have such a large selection to choose from.
The hospital also provides free parking. They have a pool that families of patients can visit as well as many waiting rooms with tv's and computers. The gift shop has some fun things to buy in it and there is a chapel and book room. They also gave our free massages to parents since they know how stressed out we are.
PROS: Excellent doctors and care
CONS: N/A
Britell, Jonathan C, Md - Southlake Clinic
My family has visited Valley several times over the past 5 years. We have been in the emergency room a few times and have delivered a baby there. We've also had two outpatient surgeries there.
The Emergency Room can take awhile to be checked out, but the care has been good for my children when they have been there. Expect for it to take about two hours if you are going in for something minor.
The Maternity Ward is nice and the staff and nurses made me feel welcome there when I had my baby there. The room I stayed in after I had our daughter was small but cozy. They did allow my husband to stay overnight but the sleeper chair was a little uncomfortable. I didn't like how I had to switch rooms once I had my baby though. It would have been nicer to stay in the same room.
Both outpatient surgeries were fairly easy and the nurses took great care of us. Everything was explained nicely and they answered all questions we had.
The food is ok. Nothing special, but I've tasted much worse!
The hospital is clean and welcoming. They have a nice gift shop and a fountain is in the middle of the hospital. I've never had an issues with parking.
Fairwood Primary Care
I have been visiting the doctors at Fairwood Primary Care for 5 years now. The doctors are friendly and we love Dr. Michele Nelsen. She has always been very helpful and willing to answer my questions. The actual visit with the doctor can be short, but that's what I like. The nurses have always been very friendly and they treat my children with care.
The time waiting for the nurse to come get you can be anywhere from 5-20 minutes depending on the time of day and how busy the office is. Once you are in the patient's room, it can also take anywhere from 5-20 minutes to see the doctor.
The office staff always seem really busy. If calling the office, expect to wait for someone to answer for about 10 minutes. I hardly ever have luck in getting someone to answer right away.
Overall, this office is exactly what I would come to expect of any doctor's office. Nothing great but nothing bad either.
PROS: Friendly nurses and good doctors
CONS: Long wait times
Rainforest Cafe
The prices here are really steep for the amount of food you receive. I took my daughter there because she received a free kid's meal coupon from her school and I still ended up paying almost $20 for the two of us. The food was good, but not good enough, in my opinion, for the price I paid.
It's a fun place to visit and very different than any other restaurant I've eaten at. My kids love the fake crocodile out front that you can throw money at. They also have fish tanks throughout the restaurant with some really neat fish in them.
They have a gift shop but it's a bit pricey as well.
They do offer a kids eat free day - I believe on Wednesday evenings.
PROS: Fun place to eat with kids
CONS: Expensive!
Target
This location is always neat and clean. I've found some great stuff in the clearance sections so be sure to look at the end caps of the isles for some great deals. The popcorn in the caf is good and a must if you have young children who bore easily while shopping. The bathroom is always stocked and clean. The cashiers are friendly and take my coupons easily. I've never run into a problem where they have been out of stock of something on sale.
Sav-On Pharmacy
This is my favorite store to shop in. It is always clean and organized. The sales are always marked and they will honor a pricing error with a free item. They must tell you the weekly special or you get a french bread for free - so be sure to call them on it! though, they have always told me but I get a free french bread a lot for doing a survey over the phone from my cash register receipt.
They take my coupons nicely and I never feel like they are in a bad mood. The checkers are helpful and friendly and one woman gave my two girls a free balloon after Easter. They loved her for it!
They will offer you a rain check on any sale item that they run out of, so be sure to ask. They often have samples in the bakery to try, so stop by there.
They do have a Pharmacy inside, but I have never used it. It hardly ever looks busy when I shop in the store.
They do have self-checkouts which are nice when you are in a hurry.
Safeway
They just remodeled this Safeway location and it's very clean and nice! The checkers are very friendly and the baggers and helpful. There is a Wells Fargo bank inside and you can also rent movies at this location. No gas station, no self-checkouts and no pharmacy at this location.
