I had a chance to see Bales bakery goods at the Portland Bridal show. With all the competition they had there, Bales was by far the most attractive and even offered yummy samples of their bridal cakes. You can't compete with the prices for wedding cakes at Bales!!!!
This place rocks in atmosphere!!! They've got animals mounted on the walls and carvings all overt the place. The meal portions are huge and you couldn't finish the whole plateful if you tried. It's a bit on the pricey side but worth at least one trip there in a lifetime.
I love a large store that offers huge selections at low prices. Khols is a lot like Mervyns only newer and easier to navigate through. I love the weekly adds and they always have their add items in stock.
PROS: big selection, low prices
I only go into this pool supply store when I'm in that area of Hillsboro. Otherwise, I go to Apolo. Although the prices are similar, the personal service I get at Apolo is much better. Sometimes, it takes a while for anyone to even realize a customer is in the store at Spa Outlet.
If you're planning on taking a vacation in the fall or winter months, good luck finding a suit that fits. Thank goodness for Portland Swimwear!! I had a pay a lot more for my suit than if I had purchased it in the summer, but what else can you do if you don't plan ahead?
PROS: huge selection
CONS: high prices
I had the perfect softball mit!....it fit me perfectly and it was broken in just right. Then, one day, a strap broke and I couldn't keep the mit on. I called several places to see if they could fix it but Cornell Cobblers was the only place willing to try! Imagine, a shoe repair shop fixing a leather mit. My mit is as good as new and will last years....in fact, if it breaks again, I know where to take it!!
PROS: Fix anything!!!
I really love browsing around Paul Schatz, but could never afford to buy anything. This store sells impeccable, well made products and offers a large selection. But, they definitely sell to upper class buyers.
PROS: nice quality, beautiful products
CONS: high prices
I had the hardest time finding a pair of spandex shorts that would fit my daughter. Dance Togs was my last resort!! They were a bit spendy, but they were the only store I could find them.
I met the owners of Aloha Glass thru my place of employment. After learning they do glass repair and window replacement, we had some windows in our home replaced. I was so pleased with them, that we had some mirrors cut and a slider door repaired. These guys are quick, friendly and know what they're doing!
PROS: Knowledgable, friendly, family owned
I had never heard of Qdoba when we went there one night after a sports event. It was very good. I like how you can ask for certain things on your burritos and make it just the way you like it. And, for dieters, it's a great place to watch those carbs and calories.
PROS: great tasting authentic food
