Nice place, in a lot of ways. Little bit too self-conscious about the retro aspect, but they do excellent work. A good selection of ice creams, with some flavors not available elsewhere. Plenty of hot chocolate and cider during winter, and plenty of cones, sundaes, and ice cream sandwiches for when it gets warm.
PROS: Great Ice cream, presented in a nice atmosphere.
CONS: Constant oldies playing inside.
Like I said in the title, a fairly good selection of adult movies, and a nice little section filled exclusively with with VHS copies of old slasher/mondo bizarro/giallo movies. Worth a look, if you're into that sort of thing.
PROS: Good niche selection
CONS: Pretty narrowly focused.
This place is an excellent source for corned beef, pastrami, kugel, rugelach, and the like. They have a nice sit-down restaurant as well as a bakery counter where you can buy lots of knishes, pastries, and, of course, bagels. The fish platters aren't a good deal, so I would skip them. The ruebens, however, are well worth it.
PROS: Great food, nice decor
CONS: Often crowded, lousy coffee.
The place affects the look of a biker bar, but don't let that throw you- they have an excellent menu of bar food and drink, served by very nice folks. Highlights among the drinks are the Bloody Mary, which corrects a glaring oversight of most other bloodies by including salami, cheese, and two kinds of been, and the Fat Boy burger, which has it's own special marinade. Fantastic place.
PROS: Good food, good drink specials
CONS: Occasional frat spud infestation.
Delilah's has been a favorite of mine for a while, so I couldn't help but put in a good review for them here. Great jukebox, excellent daily specials on a different beer and bourbon every day of the week, and the country's best wihiskey selection, according to Malt Advocate. They Also have great tasting events for things like scotch and lambic. Rockin joint.
PROS: Everything about it.
CONS: Can get crowded, but generally with okay folks.
