This historical theatre is ornately decorated and beautifully preserved. Great acoustics for its world class plays. Great bathrooms! Also, the drinks are not overpriced.
My favorite places in the park are the Japanese tea garden and the arboretum. Way too much to see in just one day, it's a great place to come and take a walk.
I bought a great refurbished women's bike here and it was a great price and rides great too! They even took off the pedal straps for me and sold me accessories at a discounted price.
I got a tattoo of my own creation on my ankle from here, and they did a perfect job. It was done quickly and it didn't even hurt too much. I also got my tongue pierced here another day. They did a great job-- perfectly straight, very sterile, great instructions for how to take care of it. I haven't had any problems with either.
Three times a year, the art students have open studios where they show off all their excellent work. It is free and open to the public and you can buy low priced original art there as well. Check with the school (UCSC) to find out when the next one is.
You'll find mostly contemporary works of art here. The facilities are beautiful yet simple and small, and not at all overwhelming. A perfect afternoon activity!
This place has an excellent selection of school supplies, stationery, and gift items, as well as art items. Their products are really high quality and unique. You won't find anything like it at a chain store.
As opposed to another nail salon just down the street, I've always had excellent luck here. They are great with both men and women, and offer both manicures and pedicures as well as waxing.
Service was rather slow, and they must have used very low quality polish, because all my nails started to chip that same day, even though I wasn't using my hands all that much.
They have 99 different varieties of beer here, and lots of expertise to recommend one that you will like. Fun atmosphere. Tuesday night is Quiz Nite. Try to sit downstairs-- upstairs is hot!!
