Clipper Vacations

Clipper Vacations operates the Victoria Clipper, a quick way to get to the San Juan Islands or to Victoria. They offer complete vacation packages that are reasonably priced. They also offer tours to other locations throughout Washington and British Columbia. The staff is friendly and knowlegable.

Seward Park Family Dental

This dental practice is great! The staff is friendly and the office has a little play area for children. They do a great job on cosmetic dentistry in addition to the standard cleanings, fillings, etc. They have early morning and later evening appointments and are open on Saturdays!

Macrina Bakery & Cafe

Not only is Macrina unique, it is good! They offer a variety of breads, pastries and cakes. Their Belltown location also offers sit-down lunches and brunches. Their breakfast muffins are out-of-this-world delicious!

A Pea In The Pod

Pea in the Pod has some really beautiful, high-end maternity clothing. The prices are steep, even during sales! I would suggest only buying stuff here if you have a really special occasion to go to during your pregnancy - like a wedding. Otherwise, it doesn't make much sense to spend this much on clothes you can only wear a few months.

PROS: Unique items, good quality
CONS: Very expensive

Children's Palace

The Children's Place has some cute clothes and they are affordable! They seem to always have a sale going on and you can get some great deals. The clothes are durable. I shop here for my 16 month old son at least once a month! The staff is really friendly and helpful, too!

InSpa

This branch of InSpa is conveniently located in U Village and it is pretty easy to get an appointment at the last minute. They do really good waxing work and their manicures and pedicures are good, too. The prices are reasonable and the spa adheres to a strict no tipping policy!

Nordstrom Inc

Located on the fourth floor of the downtown Nordstrom's store, the Nordstrom cafe is a welcome resting spot in the midst of a marathon shop! The cafe offers a variety of entrees, salads, sandwiches, snacks and drinks at reasonable prices.

Women's Center - University of Washington

The UW Women's Center is housed in Cunningham Hall on the UW Campus. The center offers a variety of programs, speakers, events and classes which are open to everyone. The staff is very helpful and supportive.

Churchmouse Yarns & Teas

Churchmouse Yarns & Teas is a wonderful shop! They carry a diverse collection of yarns and the largest selection of needles I have seen in any shop in Seattle or it's environs! The staff is friendly and helpful and they offer a good selection of classes.

PROS: Great location and atmosphere, good yarn selection, great needle selection
CONS: On the pricey side.

Gene Juarez Salons & Spas

There is a reason Gene Juarez is regularly rated the top spa in Seattle. The ambience is unrivaled! I usually schedule my spa trips at the downtown location, and I am never disappointed! From the moment I walk into the spa waiting room, I feel more relaxed! Their facials and massages are top-notch and the body treatments offered are invigorating and rejuvinating. I feel better after a 3 hour visit to the Gene Juarez spa than I do after a week's vacation!

PROS: The best spa in Seattle!
CONS: Expensive $$$$
