This is a fun little place to grab a bite to eat. The food is decent, the salsa is hot, and the drinks are strong.
This building looks like an old 70s ski-chalet, with peaked roof and lots of varnished logs inside. Definately gives this place a strange feel.
It neve seems to be crowded, which is good because it also means you never have a long wait for food. The food price is comparable to other mexican restaraunts in the area, and the food is pretty good. This place is definately a place to hang out and have drinks at.
The moment I walked in here, I got great customer service. I've only purchased jewelry here, but I've seen the work they've done and it's outstanding.
The jewlery selection is fairly extensive and offers a wide range of jewelry in a wide range of mediums-bone, horn, steel, glass etc. And the price was EXTREMELY reasonable. I walked away with a set of earrings I really loved for not a whole lot of cash. I will definatley make it a point to come to this store when I'm in the area.
Really. Do NOT go anywhere else. There are so many good things about Sub-Q. First of all, this is an honest shop. Don't come in if you're under-aged without a guardian. Don't drag your kids in here because they will be asked to leave. DO come in if you're looking for excellent, experienced piercers, who are clean, sterile, and guarentee their work.
All the piercers who work her have had long apprenticships so they know what they are doing, and are very friendly and helpful, willing to answer any questions and soothe minds.
Sub-Q also has a trade-in policy with the stainless steel jewlery, which makes stretching a much less costly process.
Sub-Q isn't the cheapest place in town, but their prices are comparable to other shops in the area, and they provide all the aftercare you need for your piercing and they will trade out your jewlery when the swelling goes down (if applicable).
I would not have anyone else touch me with a needle but these guys.
This place doesn't have the greatest cuisine in the world. They have spagetti, and they do it fairly well. This place is the place to come with large groups... the large facility can easily accomodate parties of 15 and more. The meals are priced cheaply, and dinner for two can run you under 20$, with drinks! This place is always loud so it's hard to have intimate conversations, but the service is speedy and if you're in a hurry, they can get you in and out within 30 min usually. Expect to wait to get to a table on the weekends and during the dinner rush, though. Try the creamy pesto dressing.
And good luck parking in their lot, it's small and not very accomodating. Great for families-- this is one of the only places downtown you are going to get away with having screaming children.
This place has hands-down, the cheapest drinks in sacramento. Where else can you still get a single shot drink for 2.50 on any given night. Beware, this bar is not for the faint-hearted, this is one of those dive-hardcore-punk rock type bars with zero ambience, a pretty crappy jukebox and atabletop shuffleboard along the back wall. The bartenders are nice and have a heavy hand. Cash only. No beer on tap.
My experience with these guys is positive. The event that they came to was all-ages, and they did a great job of making sure that they didn't serve alcohol to minors. The demeanor of the bartender was professional at all times and provided great service.
Need to catch up on your "Queer as Folk" or "L Word"? Need a karaoke fix? Just need a good drink? The Depot is your place.
It's a loud little bar, with music videos always playing (or the Ellen DeGeneres show) and some pool tables and an outside patio for those naughty smoker types.
Mondays are a great night to come here for the post-work drink, becuase pitchers of their decptively sweet frozen margaritas and cosmos are only 7 bucks. The bartenders here are sweet and not too stingy. An added plus is that on the weekends the music goes late, so if after they take your drink away you still want to dance, you can!
PROS: Location, price, atmosphere
Faces is a great nightclub. The atmosphere is fun, the decor is nice and the bathrooms are unisex. This is a great place to go in groups for a night on the town. Faces has 2 dance floors and multiple bars (4), so there is always someone spinning another type of music. The bartenders are always friendly and aren't terribly stingy on drinks.
Friday and Saturday night are especially fun here as the crowd is pretty energetic.
Cover usually isn't too bad, and it's pretty easy to spend all night here and not even realize it's 2 until they turn on those blasted lights.
There is a parking lot around back, but most likely you'll have to find parking along the street, which usually isn't too terribly hard.
This place is fantastic. It's a small little place with only a few tables to sit at and a wooden porch around the back. It stands alone in the middle of a parking lot and never seems quite busy... untill you step inside.
This place has become a Davis staple, offering big portions of good, fresh food for years. With the "organic alternative" cutomers can order an Ostrich burger, which has a flavor, color and texture similar to red meat, but much less fat and horomones.
This place can be a bit pricey for a burger joint, dinner for 2 cost me 18 bucks last time.... but the food is worth the price. They accept cash, credit, and atm here which makes life really easy, and you really do get what you pay for here, which is darned good food.
This place is amazing. The staff are very helpful and sweet, the facilites are spotless and charming, and the services provided are relaxing, rejuvinating and magical.
My experience there was wonderful, I loved our little room with a view of the garden and drinking tea with my sweetie in the spa....ahhh.
This place is worth every single penny.
