This is a fun way to release all of your driving anger. It's basically driving bumper cars while trying to score a goal. It's best to get a group together to play for an hour to minimize the cost. They also have food, drinks and other games for fun. It's perfect for birthday parties, corporate events or any social gathering.
PROS: Good Social Event
This place does have some good finds, but you have to dig! They carry discounted designer and name brand clothes and accessories. However, I found some of the clothes to be very outdated. But if you like shopping, it shouldn't be hard to find stylish clothes at below department store prices.
PROS: Good Selection, Designer Discount
CONS: Outdated Clothes
This sister company of Crate and Barrel has a similar feel of no frills quality home goods. But the items are a bit hipper, stylish and more affordable. This is great for those who want inexpensive and unique accessories for their bedroom, kitchen and bath. Customer service is very good as well. Just be careful on the weekends, as it gets crowded in the area.
PROS: Affordable, Unique
If you can handle getting to Navy Pier - which is crowded and swarming with kids, this theatre has really entertaining productions. It's small (seating is for about 200) and all of the seats have a good view of the stage. The tickets are reasonably priced as well. The productions are well acted, creative and original. Very entertaining!
PROS: Good set design
CONS: Getting there
I visit Navy Pier once a year, usually for an event. They do host great events there since there is a large meeting space and it has great views of the city. Otherwise, this place is mostly for tourists and children. There are lots of activities for kids - ferris wheel, carousel, children's theatre. Parking is limited and expensive, so the best option of getting there is public transportation. Too many cheesy souvenir shops too.
PROS: View of Chicago, Lakefront walk
CONS: Too crowded, Hard to Park
This zoo makes for a nice walk through the park, but it's not very big or interesting. There are lots of people in the summer that visit but it does not get too crowded since it's not that big. Lots of kids too.
PROS: Good Location,
CONS: Small Zoo.
This really have a "world wide" feel to it. It has products from every corner of the world, from food and drinks to furniture and artwork. I especially like the international food selection and the products for the kitchen. There's always something fun to find there and the prices are low too.
PROS: Good prices, Different products
Never Mind has trendy and stylish clothes. I always wander in to check out the latest fashions, however, I usually leave empty handed. The clothes are tailored to small and shorter sizes. The sale items are always picked through as well, so it's just harder to find something worth purchasing even though the prices are not too bad for a boutique. The do have good accessories and the sales associates are always very friendly.
PROS: Trendy Clothes,
CONS: Only Small Sizes.
This has one of the largest selection of fabric. The fabrics come in many styles, colors, patterns and price ranges. Overall, the fabric is not expensive either. They also have sewing classes that meet once a week and provide great instruction for the novice sewer like myself. From one class I did learn the basics of sewing and using a pattern.
PROS: Good Fabric Selection, Low Prices
I can't think of one person who does not like grocery shopping at Trader Joe's. Fortunately, there are several throughout the city and they are all consistent with their service, quality and selection of grocery items. There are loads of healthy and low cost foods. The staff is also always very energetic and friendly. And, I love the tasting station that always has something to sample.
PROS: Great Selection, Parking Availalbe
