Ulta has the best selection of cosmetics and beauty products around and all at reasonable prices. Some of the lines are more expensive in par with department store prices, but overall, it's geared toward the mid-range price level. Alos, signing up with their frequent buyer program gets you good values and discounts.
PROS: Huge Selection and Price
This Bally's location has all of the euqipment needed for a workout. It offers plenty of classes as well. The space is large, however, it does get crowded after work hours and during the weekends. I prefer to go on off hours for this reason. It's also kept very clean. There is also a parking structure attached to the building for easy parking.
The Art Institute has one of the best art exhibits in the US. You may want to take this in several days, otherwise you'll be running through this mueseum to see all well-known artists, paintings, statues, photos, sculptures, armors, etc. etc. This is a gem of the city, and is a must visit. A VERY good value for anywhere in the world.
Tuesdays are "free days" with no admission fee. Whichever day you go, I'd say get there early. You'll need to make a few visits to see everything.
PROS: Free Admission on Tuesdays
CONS: Little Parking
I really like the space and layout of the MCA but I'm not very intersted in the art there. It is too unusual for my interests. The events that are held there like First Friday's are great though. There's lots of space and a large crowd attends. Admission is not expensive, so it's worth a visit.
PROS: Great events
I'm always amazed at all of the supplies that Pearl carries. I've always been able to find what I need for my projects. And I've never had any trouble completing any returns and exchanges.
PROS: Large Selection
Yes, the clothes are really cheap but you get what you pay for at H&M. The clothes are urban and trendy and the store is always mobbed on the weekends. It's spread across three huge floors - and there are just too many clothes. And you're guaranteed to wait in line to try clothes on.
PROS: Cheap Clothes
Hanig's has a good selection of comfortable walking shoes which are very expensive. Most of the shoes are priced at $100 or more and the sales are always on the unattractive styles. Still, I manage to shop there regularly. Service is okay - it's hit or miss depending on how busy it is.
From the vegan to the health-conscious, this is a great store for stocking up on vitamins, protein powder, soy milk, juicers, and just about anything else you can imagine. Very helpful staff too.
PROS: Good service
CONS: Little parking
Dilly Lily is a great florist! They always provide beautiful arrangements at reasonable prices. The arragements have a whimsical feel to them and they are very accomadating to what you need.
PROS: Delivery Availalbe
The Burnham is a classy and luxurious hotel with a great location. The service is outstanding, friendly and attentive. The room is comfortable and clean and has all of the nices extras that make you feel special.
