We really enjoy this amusement park. It's old but well maintained and the prices are very reasonable. We purchased a bracelet for the kiddie section and the 4 year old had a blast. I would bring some wet naps or wipes for little hands though, as the rides are a little dirty. The staff are friendly and the lines aren't too long. A caveat: stay away from the women's restroom, it's dirty and some of the seats are broken.
We like to get shrubs and flowering plants here. They take really good care of their plants, and as a result, we haven't lost a plant yet in our yard (can't say the same about other nurseries). The staff are very friendly. The prices are reasonable. It's relatively easy to find - it's off Ferry Rd towards Camp Ellis. Parking is plentiful but after a rain it gets muddy, so wear hiking boots or old sneakers.
Our family dentist for many years. Great guy, very personable, very intelligent. His office staff are welcoming and his dental assistant is talkative and skilled. The waiting area has ok magazines. They keep the place immaculate. There's plenty of parking - it's located in the same plaza as Star Struck video, across from the OOB Middle School. Highly recommend, great dentist!
This is the main branch location of the Portland Public Library, and it's huge. I've been there many times when I needed info for a paper and my local library didn't have it. It is a little overwhelming there at first, so be sure to ask for help from one of the many librarians. They're friendly and helpful. If you ever can't find a book there (which is highly unlikely), they offer inter-library loan. Parking is available in a nearby deck.
We love this place. It's close to the beach and the downtown area, so we like to walk there after a bite of pizza and a day at the beach. The price is reasonable and the employees there are really sweet. The course is so much fun! I love the waterfall, I think it's so pretty. There's plenty of parking for those wanting to drive. Highly recommend!
We like to mini-golf here. The course is interesting and we like the layout. The staff are polite and the prices are reasonable. The highway traffic behind us hasn't ever bothered me. There's plenty of parking. It's located near some tourist cabins in Old Orchard, but visitors will still want to drive due to the proximity of the highway spur.
We really like the Children's Museum. It's very creative and is completely kid-interactive. Kids can play on a mock fire truck, buy groceries, be a vet, pretend to fly a plane, run science experiments, etc. It's a 5 year old's dream. A few caveats: it's a very large place that's often crowded, so parents may struggle to keep tabs on several children at once. It's not easy to find, and parking consists of a nearby garage. Also, the admission to the Museum is not cheap. However, despite all of those things, I highly recommend it.
We really like it here; it's a fun family spot. The items on display in the museum can be a little dull for small children, but the trolley ride more than makes up for it. The admission price is reasonable, and children five and under are free. I haven't met a rude staff member there yet; they're great and they work well with children. We went on the ice cream & trolley ride special and it was good. Overall I do recommend this museum.
I used to bowl here all the time as a kid in one of their bowling leagues. They were known for being friendly and welcoming then, and that hasn't changed. The ammenities have just gotten better and better. They have an arcade area and pool tables for those who get tired of bowling. They've also upgraded to automatic scoring counters, and the overall place has a newer "feel." I highly recommend it - what a fun place to bring the family!!
Some nail salons have a certain chemical odor, but Lucinda's doesn't because they don't use those products. That's one of the reasons why I love to come here for manicures. The staff are friendly and really quick. They also will add little artwork on the nails for free. Lucinda's is not really easy to find, but once you find it, there's plenty of parking. It's comfortable inside, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this place.
