I've recently had occassion to look through many stores for a keepsake class ring. I was very happy with the selection and service I got at Zales. Their prices were very competitive, and on many things, cheaper than most other stores. The staff was also friendly and cheery, and patient enough to give you time to decide.
This store has a selection of very beautiful jewelry, but it is expensive. Not too much here is totally unique, but they do have some really nice pieces and they have sales people that are very helpful and not pushy. If you are looking for a gift that is high-quality and professionally handled, this is your place.
If it wasn't so expensive, I'd come here all the time. The food is weird, but good, but the atmosphere makes it a real show. While you're eating animals all around you "wake up" and snort, bellow and trumpet. Which may not sound too fun, but it's entertaining. Especially if you bring someone who's never been here before.
Okay, so maybe not that bad. You don't have to get up and get it yourself, but you do have to wait until they're darned ready to serve you. Once you do get service, though, the food is unforgettable, just great home cooking like grandma is in the kitchen. It's also quite affordable, but avoid the Mexican dishes.
This place is FANCY. It's hard to believe it's in a mall. When you arrive, even without an appointment, they greet you right away and get you settled with a free soda, juice or water. When it's your turn, you can sit in the massaging pedicure chairs and get treated like a princess. I like that they have a lot of color choices, and they're not all old lady colors. The staff is friendly and sweet, too.
My friends and I are more the mall crowd than the museum type, but we love to catch the train downtown on the weekend and hang out at Dallas World Aquarium. There are so many different types of animals, and you can get up close to them. I love the tunnels and port holes where you can sit and almost touch the fish. The penguins here are totally cute, too. Be sure to come around feeding time as they are precious then.
I love watching action movies on the big floor to ceiling IMAX screen. We watched Star Wars here, and it felt like a whole new movie. The sound is incredible, too. Everything sounds like it's moving all around you. It's a whole new experience seeing shows like this. You should check it out.
There's so much to do at dave and Buster's that it almost hurts your eyes trying to find where to look first. They have billiards and a beautiful dining room, and they have a stage area where they host Murder Dinner Theaters. Their marvelous midway is stuffed and overflowing with the latest video games, carnival games and simulators. Grab a bunch of friends and challenge them to take you on the latest shooters, driving games and more.
I love Japan and all things Japanese, and was delighted to discover the Japanese Gardens. I could come and stay forever. There are so many quiet meditation nooks and beautiful plants. The fish will eat right out of your hand! If you've never been, you *have* to put this outing into your plans. And bring a camera!
If you love malls like me and my friends do, you should check out Town East. It's an older mall, but still offers plenty of trendy stores. In addition to the major chains, there are smaller local stores, a great food court and a couple of good restaurants. It's crowded, especially on the weekends, and that makes it a great people watching location.
