Alexis' Greek Cafe
This restaurant doesn't look like much compared to its neighbors in Hillcrest, but it's a hidden jewel. It is hardly ever packed so you never have to wait long for the freshly made, authentic Greek food. The dinners are large, so go hungry. They have great sandwiches for lunch too. Don't pass up the opportunity to eat here.
Extraordinary Desserts
This is worth breaking any diet for. The best dessert around. At Extraordinary Desserts you will find the most beautiful desserts will ever see. As far as taste goes, it doesn't get any better. It is expensive, but worth it. Great for special occasions. All I can say is that you have to go!
St. Tropez Bakery & Bistro
This cafe style restaurant resembles places commonly found in France and serves healthy French meals. They specialize in Sandwiches and salads, but also have classic favorites like crepes and French onion soup. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This place is both tasty and affordable. A great place to go anytime of the day.
The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center
Saffron offers a casual setting decorated with fun glass sculptures along with exceptional food. It has a fun ambiance and exotic flavors that set it apart from other Thai restaurants. The prices are good and the place unique. Be sure to try the lemongrass iced tea and coconut sticky rice with fresh mangoes for dessert.
Bread and Cie
Gourmet freshly baked breads, pastries, and desserts make this French style bakery a favorite in San Diego. The place id decorated similar to the cafes that line the streets all over France and people line up every morning to buy bread. Customers can enjoy a scrumptuous snack, breakfast, or lunch, or just pick up their favorite loaf of bread. The coffee is good too. This bakery is fun to sit in with a book or newspaper, or to chat with a friend over tea.
India Palace
India Palace has wonderful food and a huge menu to choose from. The decor creates a Middle-Eastern feel and the flavors take you straight into the heart of India. The restaurant is not cheap, but also not expensive. Most dishes average thirteen to fifteen dollars. Whether you enjoy Indian food already, or want to try it for the first time, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Celadon
This is my favorite Thai restaurant ever. The food tastes so delicious and always satisfies my Thai cravings. The extra bonus is that it is affordable . The dinner menu prices average under ten dollars. The exotic ambiance and fantastic food combine to make a restaurant that is extremely difficult to beat.
PROS: Yum!
CONS:
Bronx Pizza
A favorite place for locals! This place has the best New York style pizza in San Diego. It is owned by a New Yorker who wanted to share good pizza with everyone. They sell pizza by the slice or whole at decent prices. Eat-in or pick up only. They do not deliver. If you go on the weekend leave extra time. The restaurant is popular and crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.
PROS: Awesome pizza
CONS: No delivery
La Posta De Acapulco's
This small mexican in Hillcrest has cheap, delicious, and authentic Mexican food. It is open twenty-four hours a day and makes a great stop after a late night out. The quantites are large and the food is filling, so go with a good appetite. This is a place a love and stop at all the time.
Mission Valley Mall
Located less than five minutes from Fashion Valley, this mall offers a wide range of highly affordable stores. The downside is that not all of the stores have top quality products. They just put in a brand new food court that has good food. Also, Ruby's, the fifties diner located at the center, is both fun and delicious. The movie theatre is another bonus.
