A-1 Check Cashing

I have found A-1 to be a great place to sell off things I can no longer stand to look at and just want to get rid of. You don't get all that much money but it's nice to be rid of things...and it is a great place to buy cool stuff really cheap - like jewelry, watches, audio equipment, etc.

As far as pawn-brokers go, this place makes you feel safe and it is not so creepy like some can be.

I have had nothing but good experiences here.

Christmas Palace

If you are looking for the most fabulous and unique holiday decorations from lights to garland to fake trees to ornaments and everything in between...you will find it all here at very reasonable prices, too!

I used to work near A Christmas Place and found it was a great place to go and browse during my lunch hour any time I was having a lousy day...something about the Christmas spirit every day of the year can really lighten your mood (and remind you to be good for goodness sake)!

Their staff are always cheerful (how could they not be?) and the store is always neat and organized and smells like Christmas!!

PROS: It's Christmas every day!!
CONS: none

Plato's Closet

Platos Closet has a huge selection of current-style teen clothing. The quality of their clothing is good to very good - they only sell gently used items and seldom will you find something here with a hole or a stain.

My issue with this stire is that many of the things they sell, you could find on the clearance rack in teh mall for less money. They sell Abercombie tops for $12 that sell brand new at Abercrombie for 9.90 on the clearance rack.

If you know your prices and are a conciencous shopper, this place will be a turn-off to you..

They also buy used clothing but you really don't get much for your stuff. You are better off having a garage sale.

PROS: stylish clothes
CONS: overpriced

Baer's Furniture Co. Inc.

This Baers has quite a large selection of very elegant furnishings for the home. Lots of different style and designs in the moderate to high end price range.

They do offer some pricing deals and are willing to work with you a bit. But I tended to feel like their main concern as salespeople was makign thier commission...and that was a turn-off.

Still, the furniture they carry is exquisite and I will certainly continue to shop there.

PROS: beautiful selection
CONS: a bit high pressure sales

Ethan Allen

When my husband and I went into this Ethan Allen store we had a very specific and hard to find piece of furniture in mind. The saleswoman took the time to show us everything in the showroom as well as go through several books to help us find what we were looking for. She asked us the dimensions of our room and discussed with us other similar pieces that might work based on our space and our needs. She was very thorough and focused on us and our needs rather than on making the sale. We really appreciated that.

PROS: great customer service
CONS: no great "deals"

Remax In Motion

I have bought and sold several properties through Remax and have always had smooth transactions with them. Their office staff are friendly and efficient. They have mortgage brokers in house to make the process faster and smoother.
They really make movng easy.

Champion Gymnastics Of South Florida Incorporated

Champion Gymnastics if South Florida is a great gymnastics studio that also handles birthday parties. They have huge foam pits and uneven bars and pummel horses and every pieve of gymnastics equipment you could imagine. They have party rooms in the back where you can have your birthday cake and pizza as well.

There is also a small shop up front where you can purchase snacks and gymnastics attire.

They hold "open" gym several times a week when you can just bring your children in for free play time.

PROS: great for birthday parties - lots of fun
CONS: a bit on the dirty side

Spice Of Life

Spice of Life is a fabulous store for lingerie, novelties, shoes, leatherware - anything for fun in the bedroom.

If you are looking to spice up your relationship - this is a great place to shop. You can shop discreetly online or come to their store in Sunrise Florida.

They are polite and respectful in teh store with various areas in the store for the more risque products where you can shop away from glaring eyes through the window.

If there is such thing as a classy raunchy store - this is it!!

Jeaneration Recycled Levis

I have been a customer at Jeaneration for years!! And every time I go in there is something new. The owner has an amazingly creative mind and takes plain old Levi's and turns them into the most wonderful adn unique creations you have ever seen!

You can bring in your own jeans or try on jeans off the racks - you can buy them plain or have her embellish them in any number of interetsing and unique variations.

Her prices are fair and she does the embellishing right there while you wait if she is not busy.

A great great place for a unique wardrobe!
