Inexpensive learning in otherwise pricey Marin, this nice little junior college offers a wide variety of courses for everyone. The classes are inexpensive.
Thorough landscaping that is well-thought-out; not slapdash or rushed. They have a complete knowledge of gardening which is useful when planning a detailed garden or a change in landscaping styles.
PROS: Excellent work
Valentine & Sons has been in business for many, many years, and has a wonderful reputation in our area. They are trustworthy and honest. I've even had tips from them on how to save money...not too often one will hear that from a plumber these days!
PROS: Great service; honest!
Unless things have changed radically in the past six months, I cannot recommend this dental practice. I was once given an appointment two months in advance AFTER telling them that my mother was in pain!
CONS: Parking is difficult; long waits for appointments
This school has a long history--my uncle was a young student there in the 1930's--and it has a wide curriculum of art courses from the mainstream to the new age.
PROS: Wide curriculum
I went to Fremont Bank on the strength of a relative's recommendation. While they are a large company and offer competitive rates, the loan process was a bit slow. I'm not sure if this is the industry standard, however.
PROS: Good rates
I had occasion to use S. Waters Plumbing recently, and was highly impressed with their efficiency and thorough work. I would not hesitate to use them again for more complex plumbing work in Marin County.
PROS: Efficient, knowledgeable
This is an exceptionally high-ranking Catholic co-ed high school. They have high academic standards and require much of their students and faculty. It is renowned for its outstanding Catholic secondary education which prepares its students for the rigors of top colleges and professions.
PROS: Educationally demanding
I went here in the 1970's, and while the staff was good, I was dismayed even back then by the schedule cutbacks. I've heard it has gotten even worse. The buildings are overcrowded and outdated as well.
PROS: Inexpensive; anyone can go there (no educational minimums)
CONS: Not professional; old buildings
I bought my car there on the recommendation of AAA, and was impressed at the professionalism displayed. I cringed, expecting a heavy sales pitch, but it was low-key and friendly.
PROS: Low key, not pushy
