Scout
A shop my girlfriend really likes and I really hate. The place is nothing but a small boutique filled with overpriced designer clothes and even the discounted items cost too much. The employees are snobby and are only there to try and get my girl to buy more.
Lucky Devil
This place is the closest thing Atlanta has to funky store you're
more likely to see in los angeles or nyc. Much nicer and authentic
than your run of the mill hot topic. I love the tees and my girl
loves the lip service. Plus the prices are pretty decent and there
really aren't too many places in ATL where you'll find the variety
of clothes they have.
Urban Tribe
One of the best tattoo shops in Atlanta. They are located in the
L5P which makes parking a major pain but these guys are worth it. I definitely recommend having work done by Philthy Bastard. He did a piece on me several years ago that is phenomenal. The ink still looks like I just walked out of the place and he is light handed.
Airport Park 'N Bark
Everytime I take a trip out of town, I leave my dog and my girlfriend's cat at Park N' Bark. The people there are very nice
and really give our pets TLC. The rates are great and you can get discounts for picking your pet up by 1pm. You can also get a discount on your airport parking. I have never used one of their grooming services but that's because they are hike from my house. After using the Park N' Bark several times I'm sure the grooming is just as great.
Travelers
Not too long ago I found a package to Cabo San Lucas for a trip in April. I called several different travel agencies to see if they could beat the online price I had found but most wanted to charge me more than $500 more. I finally called Travelers and found the agents to be nice and very competent. They also beat the online price by $50. If you're trying to make travel plans using the net then I highly recommend you give these guys a call and see if they can match or beat what you've already found.
Movies Worth Seeing
Cheaper than Blockbuster and has a much better selection. I go here to get the hard to find movies. Their selection includes
foriegn, indie, B, oldies, new releases and more. The rental
policy is great and the staff is always dead on with their recommendations.
Oxford Comics & Games
Oxford is the end all for any comic book lover. They have every
type of comic you could want. This place also has memorabilia that ranges from posters to collectibles. I love buying my t shirts here because everyone always wonders where I get the coolest tees. I suggest going on Wednesday when the new stock arrives.
Hobbit Hall Childrens Bookstore
The perfect place for kids. I take my nieces and nephews to this little cottage quite a bit. They love to go and listen to the
storytellers and I love that they are enjoying something
productive, like reading versus playing the xbox. The books are marked off according to age and reading level. The staff are friendly and the prices really aren't anymore expensive then the book chains. The best part about this place is that it encourages kids to sit down and read.
Criminal Records
Another great shop in the L5P. Loaded with tons of music on vinyl or cd. They also carry a decent selection of vintage posters as well as a rare magazines and tons of literature on the local music
scene. The staff is helpful but a few are downright snobby and should be avoided. The prices here are cheap and they will definitely have what you are looking for or help you find it.
Full Moon Records
The cheapest place to find new and used vinyl or cd's is at Full Moon. I never leave this place without checking the dollar bin because you never know what treasures you might find. The staff is friendly enough but not not as knowledgable as those at Wax N
Facts. But the prices at this place warrant a stop. Almost everything is $7 or cheaper and you can trade in or sell back you old stuff.
