This pottery studio allows you to drop in, create the project of your choice, and come back later after it is glazed and finished. Great on a rainy day when the kids are dying of boredom, or to make unique holiday or birthday gifts, and they also do birthday parties.
Wheeler's has been around so long they overflowed their first space and took over a second! Smalls in one store, furniture in the other. Huge selection, but with just enough clutter that the one piece you are searching for may be just around the corner.
I have to admit, I have been shopping here for over 30 years, and I still make time to make a stop whenever I am in town. Delicious, home made chocolates and other types of candy, with a good selection of giftware and stuffed animals thrown in. I can't live without the sandwich mints - sort of a reverse peppermint patty with dark chocolate on the inside and minty wafers on the outside. Beware the lines at Easter, when their large selection of Easter eggs comes out, but they do take customers by number, in as orderly a fashion as humanly possible.
Looking for a sweet treat? Stop in here! Their specialty is an amazing selection of extra large cupcakes - filled or topped with every imaginable flavor combination. And at $3.50 each, they are big enough to share, a delicious finish to any meal
I have taken my small dog here several times, and have always been very pleased by the care they take of her, and the quality of the services she receives. They also have a good selection of dog toys and chewies, dog beds, and a huge selection of breed specific books.
The care and haircuts provided by this groomer are terrific, no doubt. What I objected to was the fact that one of the owners smokes constantly, so my freshly bathed dog often came home smelling like smoke, which I didn't appreciate. They know what they are doing, they would be an excellent choice for a pet from a smoking household.
Everything here is made right on the premises. This bakery has been here for a long time, because the products are terrific, and the prices are very reasonable too. Selection varies according to what is fresh, but the danishes are superb.
Ludewig's is a True Value hardware store, so while it may not seem to be special, the customer service here is what makes the trip worthwhile. You can get excellent suggestions when choosing whatever hardware items you need, and if they don't have it, they will order it for you. They also mix paint in the rear of the store. Helpful service is the reason to shop here.
Fresh fruit, all the kinds you can think of and several you never heard of before. Everything here is well prepared or organized, and the sales staff are knowledgable. Fruit trays are also prepared for special occasions, and there is an excellent salad bar at the rear of the store.
I noticed that this animal hospital opened recently, and had the opportunity to try them out when my small dog was sick and my regular vet was out of town. The office is clean and well kept, the vet (Dr. Diggle) was excellent with both my dog and my worried child - bedside manner is always a plus! His diagnosis was right on target, and the dog is feeling much better already. And the others (people, not pets!) I spoke to in the waiting room spoke highly of Dr. Diggle. They are also able to provide vet care for reptiles, something many of the other area vets cannot do.
PROS: clean, bedside manner, reptile certified
