This pediatritions office is the better of the three locations, but I still chose to leave the practice. It's very large so it was hard for me to get to know the different doctors. I was very unhappy with the city nursing staff as well. I chose to find a smaller practice, but if you do decide to go here, ask around and try to pick a doctor that works the days that work for you and try to still with him/her as much as possible.
You won't find couture, but you will find quality everyday clothing items for inexpensive prices. The tank tops I have from Old Navy I love much more than my more expensive items, as well as I love the basic tees, work-out wear and capris. This is also a great place for kids clothing. YOu can get incredible deals during sales (how about boys t-shirts for under 5 bucks). Definitely worth a trip.
PROS: great prices, great selection
CONS: Long check-out lines
This location of Banana Republic features a good selection of clothing. Great pants and sweaters and very versatile tops for all seasons. my one complaint is that the store frequently seems a little unorganized. I highly recommend shopping the sales at Banana Republic and it's unfortunate that at this location it can be hard to sort through the sale racks.
Whether you are looking for a new place to picnic or you are a concert aficionado, Ravinia will fit the bill. This outdoor concert arena features a wide range of artists from Chicago Symphony Orchestra to Elvis Costell to Ralphs World (for kids). Choose from traditional pavillion seating or on the lawn which I prefer. Picnic under the stars (get there early to claim your space) and get top quality music. If you don't like to lug a lot of goods ravinia also has decent food offerings (owned by Levy Restaurants) and will even pack a full picnic for you. Finish the evening with a bowl of their Cappuccino Chip Ice Cream that is made soley for Ravinia...it's great.
PROS: great music, good price
CONS: parking can be tough
P45 is probably one of the best boutiques in Chicago for in the moment trends and upscale clothing. While it's very expensive it's still comprable to other places selling the same type of clothing. This store has been in most fashion magazines and is written up frequently. They feature a lot of local designers as well as many one of a kind items.
You'll find unique pieces as well as shoes and accessories.
This very pricey boutique is located in the heart of Lincoln Park. It features cute accessories like picture frames, candles and serving pieces as well as jelewry and bath and body stuff. They also sell clothing from local and national designers, but it's pricey. They also sell some baby items. It's a great place to buy a gift.
PROS: good selection of beautiful items
Fox's is a staple in Lincoln Park for anyone that is looking for a deal on some high end lables.Suits, tops, pants and even formal dresses are on display. The tags are cut out so you don't always kjnow which designer it is, but the clothing is well made and represents the most up to date trends. I've gotten incredible deals on winter coats and formal dresses over the years. They also have some accessories depending on the day. They get new items in every few weeks as well. They have a second location in Skokie.
One of the first of its kind in Chicago, 1154 Lill Street is a make-your-own-bag boutique. Choose from a number of styles of purses/totes/make-up bags and then puruse hundreds of patterns and fabrics. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful because it can be very overwhelming to choose from. The price range depends on which style you choose. They also have diaper bags.
I've been shopping at this store for years. This cute boutique in hip Roscoe Village features up to the moment styles for woman. While there is definetly a range of styles it tends to bend a little towards a vintage edge. It used to be owned by two woman that were really nice and down to earth. If there is something you are looking for they are also willing to try to get it in for you. I thought the clothing were at a good price range as well.
This is a gem of an accessory store. I have never seen such an extensive collections of necklaces, rings, bracelets etc. They represent a variety of colors, materials and trends. You'll find mulit-strand necklaces and woods. Best of all the price range is just as diverse and you can get a great piece for an even better price. They also have clothing at great prices as well, especially some adorable skirts, and purses. A must see in Lincoln Park.
PROS: great selection
