Skate 22 has been around for years. It's kind of hidden if you do not know where it is because it is located behind a shopping center. It's a decent sized rink---there is a main rink and a kiddie rink. There are rooms for kids to have skating parties--I had one of my birthday parties here when I was a kid! On sunday nights, it gets grown and sexy and only persons 21 and over are allowed to enter.
My providian visa card is my favorite credit card. The company extends sizeable amounts of credit to persons who do not have a solid credit rating. But unlike other cards for persons rebuilding their credit, providian's APR is pretty low, under 15%, and there aren't any annual fees. The customer service is very good and you can easily pay your bills on the company website. You can also keep track of your credit score on their website.
This is one of my favorite bowling alleys to go to. It's pretty big and it's reasonably priced. They make good drinks at the bar and the fries are really good. there is rock-n-bowl on friday nights, and on saturday mornings there is an early bird special where you can bowl from 7-10 for $10 and breakfast is included. The music is always good and I've never had to wait really long to get a lane.
This theater is located in Millburn Village. It is a small theater and it does not always show the latest popular movies, especially the one's that target young, urban audiences. Since it's such a small theater, there isn't a large food selection here--you'll only get the standard popcorn, candy and slushies here. It's a quiet theater and does not get very crowded on weekends.
Dr Kulkarni recently took over the practice of Dr. Riekers. She is a kind woman and really cares about her patients. She is a general practitioner and my entire family goes to see her. She accpets most types of insurances and the office is not usually crowded. The nurses are great---there is one older nurse who is really funny and spunky. If you do not have insurance, her office offers full examinations for $70 on Saturdays.
There really isn't much to do for fun in syracuse except go to the carousel mall. The mall just underwent a major expansion and renovation, making it one of the largest malls in the country. There are a lot of different stores here--Coach, Best Buy, Kaufmans, Brookstone. There is also a movie theater and the mall is accessible via public transportation. There is an excellent food court and the chinese restaurant has the best orange chicken I have ever tasted.
I took my girlfriend here for a massage and decided to get one myself. The masseuse was friendly and the massage was great. My girlfriend fell asleep because it was so relaxing. The prices are pretty cheap. It's just $10 for a 10 minute chair massage, $60 for a 60 minute massage and $90 for a 90 minute massage. The place was clean and neat and the atmosphere was very cozy and relaxing. The masseuse got all the kinks out!
This store is located in Carosel Mall. I think it is one of the best places to buy shoes for both, men and women. The store is enormous, and you can literally spend hours in the store looking up and down the aisles for shoes. The woman's selection is much larger than the men's selection, but the store still has a decent selection of men's shoes and sneakers. My girlfriend loves to shop here because she can find a lot of shoes for cheap outlet prices.
Princeton Review offers excellent test prep services, especially for the LSAT. The courses are expensive, but the company guarantees results or else you can re-take the classes for additional training. There is also a payment plan so that you can pay a little bit each month, rather than have to pay the entire $1000 up front. The instructors are well-trained, intelligent and experienced. The course materials are helpful and so are the practice exams. If you buy one of their commerical textbooks, you can get a coupon for $50 off one of the classes.
Kaplan is located inside Marshall Square Mall. The company advertises its test prep services for GMAT, LSAT, MCAT, and the GRE throughout the Syracuse University Campus, and it offers practice exams on campus throughout the school year. But I do not know anyone who has done well on an exam after taking one of their classes. My friend took Kaplan's LSAT course and his score did not go up at all. Another friend of mine's score went done. I have heard people have more success with Princeton Review.
