I've been to Yoga Tree several times for their beginner workshops and I always have a blast every time. The teachers are always very engaging and supportive, especially of new students. The studios are spacious and have a very calming, relaxing feeling to them. I can't vouch for the more advanced classes, but the beginning classes were great and very affordable.
Skates on Haight serves all your different wheeled needs. Whether you want to rent or buy skateboards, longboards, rollerskates, rollerblades, anything with skates, they have it here. It's got a great location because it's located right by Golden Gate Park. Their prices are reasonable too. What better way to spend a Saturday than to rent some skates and go for a stroll in the park? Check this place out.
I went to Mrs. Dewson's Hats to buy a gift for Mother's Day, and they have some beautiful hats in there. I didn't end up buying anything because all the hats were out of my price range, but you could tell that they were of good quality and definitely worth it. If you have a little bit of money to spend on a hat, check out Mrs. Dewson's.
Amoeba Music is world famous, and it should be. You can find literally whatever you are looking for here. Old CD's, old vinyls, rock, techno, blues, folk, anything you want, it'll be here, often at cheap used rates. They also have a really big DVD and VHS collection, many of them used too. If you haven't been to Amoeba yet, you really need to go.
This shoe store rocks! You walk in and immediately you are struck by the industrial design of the store. There is a see through elevator to your right and shoes lining the walls. They have tons of cool styles here for men and women. The shoes aren't cheap, but then again, good shoes never are. They've got some cool stuff in this store.
This vintage store is HUGE! It has racks and racks of vintage pants, shirts, t-shirts, coats, everything for both men and women. When you enter, get ready to check your bag, but you'll be used to this if you've gone to any other vintage stores on Haight. After that, take an hour to look through the racks and see if you can find some hidden gems. You can also sell used clothes here.
This place rocks. I went shopping here with my girlfriend and we had a blast! I've seen a lot of the Victoria Secret lingerie, but the lingerie here at My Boudoir Lingerie is different, and oftentimes sexier. They specialize in little known brands, different styles, and you can even get garter styles, which are awesome here!
Paper source is a really cool spot. When you first enter, it's really calming with all the cool colors incorporated into the decor, and then you see that there are tons and tons of different kinds of paper! This place is great if you are looking to do a special art project or write a special letter. They will have everything you need, from paper to envelopes to even pens and pencils.
Crossroads trading company is awesome if you are looking for vintage clothing of any kind, old jeans, or maybe just a cool accessory like a hat or a belt. They have tons of cool styles here. Not only that, but you can bring in your old clothes to sell back to them. Definitely a very cool place.
This book store is great. It has a pretty big variety of books for an independant bookstore, as well as a really nice, calm, relaxing ambience. There isn't really any chairs or anything if you want to sit and browse through the books, but other than that, it's a really nice spot on Fillmore St.
