This location is one of the smaller ones, but still very worthwhile. Browse through the new markdowns that become available at each sale - several times a year. It's hard to leave empty-handed.
PROS: Great bargains.
The chicken is made up of enormous, juicy, golden brown crusted pieces. Homemade rolls are heavenly. Veggies are fresh and always great. But try, if you will, to leave room for homemade cobbler - peach if you're lucky that day!
PROS: To-die-for fried chicken and rolls.
Personally, I could have the matzo ball soup every day of my life and never tire of it. But if you prefer variety, all the breakfast dishes are great, including the matza brie, omelettes and pancakes, and are served all day. Daily specials, scads of sandwich options, and magnificent pastries. Another new location on Forest near Marsh has same menu.
PROS: Excellent food, great variety, breakfast served all day.
Known for their great fajitas, they are, in fact, the best. But try other menu items, as well, while helping yourself to the most outstanding chips and salsa in town.
PROS: Great, dependable food. Reliable atmmosphere.
Everything you could possibly need for just about any type of crafting, from needlework to scrapbooking and beyond. And if you're not already a crafter, your juices will begin flowing when you see the endless possibilities!
PROS: Excellent selection of craft supplies for all types of projects.
You know a store's doing something right when it remains in business, thriving AND at the same location for what must be at least 20 years! Great selection of all sizes, including plus sizes. Last time I was in, also had a large bridal department.
PROS: Good place to consign; great selection for customers.
The only time I went in to try to consign a few items, I found the owner to be a real jerk. If the place had been filled with amazing items that by far out-classed mine, I may have half understood his arrogance. But, frankly, the store was hardly stocked at all, and what was there wasn't great.
CONS: Rude, arrogant.
This was the first Mexican restaurant at which I could choose from grilled meats long before fajitas hit the scene, including goat meat and the to-die-for shrimp. Grilled on a skewer, the large shrimp are stuffed with goat cheese and a sliver of jalepeno, then wrapped in bacon. Also excellent catering - perfect (and welcome) for business meetings and training sessions.
PROS: Fabulous food, authentic, Old Mexico atmosphere
Only the best touring companies of new shows, great classics and shows heading to Broadway fill the bill during the Dallas Summer Musicals. Six or seven shows run from May or June through October, when the biggest hit of the season plays during the State Fair of Texas. Recent shows have included Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Billy Joel's Movin' Out and Wicked. Tickets available at the Box Office at Preston Royal.
PROS: Broadway quality theater in Dallas!
I can't help but go nuts when I shop at this fabulous store with it's huge selection of current styles at bargain prices. It's been around a long time, which is always a very good sign of doing something right!
PROS: Terrific shoes, great prices.
