William Barthman Jewelers

A nice selection of watches can be found here at William Barthman Jewelers, They carry the full Wempe line which I am fond of as well as a lot of nice product from Swiss Army. Really the only full service watch store in the Wall street area.

Van Cleef & Arpels

Located at Bergdorf Goodman Van Cleef Arpel has a tremendous selection of jewelry and watches. This is real high end merchandise and is not stylish or funky. These are classic designs that never lose there luster over time.

Rolex

Rolex oh Rolex, thy reputation precedes you. This is the companies flagship store and the selection is staggering. The prices are high but this is a legendary high quality product. After browsing you can step out onto fifth avenue and look at the selection of bootleg watches being sold by street vendors. You can get great deals but it's all relative. The Rolex you buy in the shop will last a lifetime and probably appreciate in value of course it might cost you $5,000. The one on the street will last through the weekend and then be worthless but can be had for $10 or $20.

Piaget Watches

Piaget makes some of the most beautiful watches in the world. Here in this store the selection of Piagets present and past is huge. These are the kinds of watches that appreciate in value over time as they are so lovely and rare. Great service, great place.

Montblanc Boutique

Montblanc's line of pens are world famous. They also make very attractive watches. The prices are quite high and if you are purchasing a MOnt Blanc think of it as something to be passed down from generation to generation. The service is impeccable and even if you're not looking to buy it's fun to see so many gorgeous pens in one place.

Fossil Incorporated

Fossil like Swatch makes a less expensive fun watch. Where as the designers of swatches seem to prefer a light airy playful look in there designs (plastic straps bright colors) Fossil seems to try to make there product with a little more substance. The watches usually come in metal boxes and make really nice gifts. The staff is friendly aand they make enough designs so that you can usually find something to like.

Chopard Boutique

It's amazing the cluster of high end watch and jewelery stores in such a limited space on the East Side. A step down from Tiffanys or Cartier Chopard still deals in very beautiful watches and jewelry. The store has never been crowded on my visits so you can enjoy an unhurried look around.

Cellini Fine Jewelry

If you are looking for some very chic expensive european style jewelry or watches this is a good place to visit. The selection is good and the staff are very helpful.Nothing comes cheaply here but if you are looking for pieces by La Nouvelle Bague this is the place to find them.

Asprey

Located on Fifth Avenue in the Trump Tower is Asprey. This temple of high end English sophistication sells nothing but high quality goods, the type you would expect to find in the home of English gentry. Great tea sets, watches, picture frames and vases among other items. The service is first rate and they are nice to browsers Tourists have yet to descend upon it like Tiffanys so you can spend some relaxed time looking. Be prepared for a bit of sticker shock as the prices are quite high.

Jan's Hobby Shop

This place is small and crammed to the gills with every type of model you could imagine. Airplanes dozens of different, Car hundreds of different, monsters, war machines like tanks cartoon characters the list is endless. The shop has that old time feel and is a great place to explore.
