Cafe Tu Tu Tango is a quirky Spanish-style restaurant that serves tapas. Each person orders approximately 3 side dishes ranging from alligator bites to jamon serrano. The desserts are to die for and there is a bar. Live music and belly dancers are staples, along with artists painting on site. The walls are filled with paintings available for purchase. This is a innovative place to go to support local artists and have a tasty meal. Also great for kids!
PROS: interesting tapas
The Kahoots in Chatsworth is a great place to get all your equestrian needs. They carry everything from helmets, breeches, western boots, bridles, everything. The sales associates are very knowledgeble and friendly. The store also sells small animals, birds, and pet food. Sometimes there are 20% off coupons in the mail, making the supplies a reasonable value!
PROS: carries horse supplies
CONS: no english riding boots
The Anabella Hotel in Anaheim, CA is literally across the street from Disneyland. Its Spanish-style architecture is charming and each building is named into cities like San Miguel, Santa Ana, etc. There is a pool, gift shop, and salon in the hotel and a very helpful desk. The hotel is also good friends with the sales manager of Anaheim Spanish restaurant, Cafe Tu Tu Tango. Mentioning the hotel at the restaurant gets you a discount. The only thing is our standard room was VERY, very small but the clean, stylish furniture makes up for it.
PROS: close to Disneyland
CONS: very small rooms
The Pacific Theatres Winnetka 21 is my favorite theatre in Los Angeles! There is hardly a line and there are automated ticket stands to ensure a quicker entrance. There is a coffee shop next to the ticket stands. There are over ten theaters inside, all of which as spacias. The chairs are comfortable and somewhat reclinable with cup holders. There is a larger selection of movies, compared to the Northridge theatre nearby. I definitely recommend Winnetka 21 for a pleasant movie-going experience!
PROS: big theater
CONS: sometimes there's a long line for popcorn
The Tower Records by the Northridge Fashion Center is a place to go when purchasing concert tickets. When the line gets too long, a lottery will be picked to see who goes first in the line (which is incredibly unfair- those who come first should be served first!) There is a wide selection of CDs, DVDs, music posters and more and a music savvy staff. It does not compare to the Amoeba in Hollywood but one need not drive all the way to Hollywood to pick up the newest Red Hot Chili Peppers cd. A cool place to browse.
PROS: Ticketmaster outlet
Pet Medical Center Chatoak was my golden retriever's main clinic and we have encountered wonderful vets and horrible ones. When my golden was diagnosed with cancer, a vet recommended euthanasia that very day. We requested other options and the medicine she recommended, after our own research, turned out to kill our dog faster had we used it! I brought my golden to a different vet in Manhattan Beach and received options and treatments from xrays, ultrasounds, steroids, to pain killers. During medical crisis, it is important to have an experience vet who will lay out all the options for a most comfortable and humane treatment. I was very disappointment with the lack of empathy and treatment I received from that particular vet in Chatoak, although the entire clinic shouldn't be blamed for her practice.
The Radioshack in Chatsworth sells a wide variety of batteries to fulfill electronic needs, as well as tvs, vcrs, and wireless phones. However the electronics are not of the latest technology and the staff is not always honest. I witnessed a staff member sell an old woman a used phone! The stale products are also overpriced. I would recommend an online outlet or Best Buy or even Walmart over this store.
PROS: wide range of batteries
CONS: old and overpriced technology
The Bath & Body Works in Northridge mall is great because they offer the latest lotions and scents. I am in love with the Warm Vanilla Sugar fragrance that they carry in antibacterial soaps, glycerine, lotions, body creams, night lights, candles, everything! There are testers everywhere and a sample sink to test the new sugar scrubs. The tomato face scrub is great and I've gotten my best friends addicted to it. They also sell really great purses now in leather and canvas, one I have used as a travel bag this year. My family purchased hundreds ofproduct as gifts and it's just a wonderful store with an amiable and helpful staff. Fabulous!
PROS: Great products, great staff
I went to the Apple Store in Northridge mall during the holiday season to buy an iPod part as a gift. I don't know where they got their staff and what training, if any, they had because if someone told me that they just pulled people from the street and slapped a name tag on them, it would've made sense. They know NOTHING about their parts and paying for the item was such an ordeal that it wasn't worth the wretched product. They accept check, they don't accept check, they don't accept goverment accepted ID but they will accept a California license... retarded, retarded, retarded.
