This is a very nice neighborhood rug store specializing in oriental style rugs. Most of the patterns are prints, but if that is what you are looking for, try this store. I bought one of their only solid rugs here and was satisfied with the price.
The salespeople are low-key and not al all pushy. They know their inventory well and are very helpful. I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes, which is unusual for me. They have been around for as long as I have been in the neighborhood (12 years), so that is saying something!
PROS: no pressure sales, easy parking
CONS: not a lot of solid rugs
Just to stay here because you are looking for a FL accommodation, is not a place I would choose-about $80 a night. On the other hand, located right on a small golf course, it is a great idea for people who come specifically to play golf. They have room and golf packages that are very reasonable. I found the rooms to be just OK-rather old and worn, but enough for the serious golfer on a budget.
PROS: in a quiet neighborhood
CONS: rooms need a facelift
Cute and quaint with a great location. Although I have not stayed in this hotel, I have seen the rooms, interracted with the staff, and have eaten in the restaurant there many times. The rooms are bright and cheery, though not large. It is a boutique hotel right on Las Olas which offers a wonderful selection of stores and excellent restaurants. The price is very reasonable, around $100.00, and you can not go wrong. This would be my choice of a hotel if I wanted to spend a few days in downtown Ft. Lauderdale.
PROS: grat location, clean, adorable hotel
This was the place I got for my friends. I investigated 4 or 5 hotels around my area so that my friends from Jacksonville could be near us. Since it is only a few years old, the place is so new. The rooms are a nice size and they serve a lovely free hot breakfast in their cozy dining room. Best of all, the price at $69 could not be beat. It is also located next door to Oakwood Plaza which has very good shopping.
PROS: next to I-95 and good shopping
My husband and I stayed there not too long ago just to get away for a day even though we live not too far away. . It has typical "beach" decor, but it is old inside and needs some work. The rooms are small, but comfortable and the staff is friendly. There are good restaurants and activities in the area, and we did not spend a lot of time in the room, anyway, for it to matter that we were not in a palace.
PROS: good location
CONS: somewhat old, needs work
This spa would not have received this fairly high review if my friend and I had not been compensated for the horrible experience we had there. Both of us went for facials, and without getting into it, we were treated by the assistant manager at the desk like we were bums off the street who had no business being there. In all fairness, the woman who did our facials was quite lovely and competent, but what transpired at the onset was like a comedy of errors. When we reported this to the manager in a letter, she admitted it was beyond belief what we went through and comped us the facials. She said she and her staff could not believe what we went through that day and it was almost funny.
I must say the lunch was excellent, the pool area very relaxing, and the manager did the right thing. I would go back based on this.
PROS: A beautiful environment
I like Hollywood's Hard Rock Hotel because it has a lot going on there now for a nice night out. Since they put in the comedy club, the night clubs and stores, there are other things to do there besides gamble. My husband and I went to the boxing matches there last month which were fun, walked around the stores, and gambled a little. This was our 5th trip there and we enjoyed it. The slot machines, however, are not loose as when they first opened, and because it is not like a real Las Vegas gambling experience, we tend to spend a lot less. I did not notice any people winning like when we first went there when it opened a year and a half ago. Although the hotel is nice, we were not in awe, since nothing compares to the real Las Vegas hotels which are too fabulous for words,
PROS: A fun night out
I started going here regularly after Hurricane Katrina because the prices are very good. In fact, they are some of the best in town for high test. It is easy in and out because of the location right off a one lane street on hohnson.
The only criticism I have is that the tape machines on the pumps that give out receipts are sometimes out of tape and you have to go inside if you want a receipt. This has happened 2 or 3 times since I have been going there.
PROS: very good prices
Cindy Cottone is an extremely skilled occupational therapist who specializes in infants and children with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory dysfunctions, and autism. She is registered and licensed in the state of FL.
With over 30 years of experience owning her own home health care agency, working for Easter Seals, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, various doctors, and now back as a private therapist, she now does therapy in your home.
Ms. Cottone is very innovative and is up on the latest techniques and therapies. Not only is she very effective and knowledgable, she is one of the nicest, kindest and compassionate people I have ever known. Her excellent reputation is well known among her colleagues in the tri-county area. I am not just saying this because she is a wonderful friend, but because it is true. If you want someone for your child who is reliable, a very hard worker, and knows her stuff, Cindy Cottone is for you. You will love her!
PROS: The best in the business
This salon is fairly busy. My husband used to get his hair done there for several years and they did a good job. Their prices are not sky high and the shop is clean. The receptionist greets you when you walk in and they are very friendly. I went there the other day for some acrylic nails because I want to give them my business, but they had noone there at the moment that does them as they are looking for someone. They are nice people and if I did not have the same hairdresser for so many years, I would definitely use them.
PROS: nice friendly staff
CONS: shopping center is a little crowded
