B&H Fashion has a lot of affordable name brand clothing items. Great gowns, dresses and suits. Conveniently located right off of I-380. Plenty of parking right outside the building. Plus they have items that will finish off that perfect look you are striving to achieve. They carry sweaters, blazers, shoes, purses, coats, lingerie, jeans and shirts!
Maya is a brightly colored store located at the back of the Laughing Lilac. You would hardly know it was there unless you visit the Laughing Lilac. They carry some really unique watches that you do not find at department stores. They have several items of clothing that is imported. The kind you have to iron or go with the wrinkled look. Definitely contemporary wear that you would find on a cruise.
This is a different type of clothing store. Hot Tamale is now located in the purple house on First Avenue. It is not sleazy wear like one would think. They have classy items. They carry lingerie, swimwear, formal shoes, dance shoes, really sexy dancewear for women in bright colors. Not really something you would expect to see in Iowa. But definitely worth stopping to check out.
Goodlove Gifts are wonderful pieces of art. She makes stunning necklaces and bracelets. The finest stones are used when creating pieces. On this one cross she used this Stone of Adam called Carneilian. Just beautiful. You really have to see the craftsmanship to appreciate it. Her art is also located at the Museum Gate Store at the CR Museum of Art.
Bloomsberry is located just outside of Atkins. Go west out of Atkins and then take the first road north at the stop sign out of town. They are not located too far out. They offer hay rack rides, parties in a barn, flower shop, plants. They also will accommodate buses if notified before hand.
This is an awesome relatively undiscovered shop in the small town of Atkins. They are on Main Street by the bank. So not difficult to find. They have melt-in-your-mouth truffles and so many other chocolate items to choose from. Wow! Dont miss out on trying the 'Cow Pie-ettes'. Those are definitely an Iowa thing.
This store is located in the Museum of Art in downtown Cedar Rapids. The store has glass walls on the inside of the big room. It really gives the illusion of being part of the larger room. The store features work by local artists. I am fond of the bead work by Debbie. There are many different items to choose from.
