Only a couple of years ago you could see the cherry orchard that supplied Olson - now an apartment complex takes it's place; however, the cherry stand is still there. Don't be put off by the small wooden shed-like appearance, they sell a whole array of products (not just cherries, some gourmet items too). The cherries are to die for - super sweet and juicy.
This place is so much fun. You design and paint pottery - no artistic ability required. About 4 people can sit to each table. It's a great place for a birthday party or bridal shower. They have a ton of pottery pieces to chose from (plates, bowls, mugs.etc.), you can even create your very own dinner service. Reservations are recommended - it's a very popular place, especially on a weekend.
Maritza has cut my hair for the last 9 years - I love her. She's the greatest hairdresser ever. Listens to what you want, makes suggestions as to what you should do. The salon is beautiful. Very clean and fabulous decor (open beamed ceiling). It's located in the town center with tons of nearby parking.
This is the best coffee in Scotts Valley. They roast their own beans. It's alongside Safway, so there's lots of parking. On a weekend morning it's full of locals. They also sell pastries and a small selection of cold entrees to take home and heat up. The offer free internet connection and tons of comfy chairs to sit and read.
This is a great place for the whole family. You can make your reservation for the train in advance. The ride takes you through the redwoods. You can even be 'Engineer for the Day' and get to drive the train! They have acres of grounds to eat a picnic. Each summer Thomas the Tank Engine visits for a couple of days. Well worth a trip.
