San Diego Animal Shelter
The Museum has many exhibits and offers a lot of educational information that would intrest kids as well as adults. Like many museums I'm not sure the Aerospace Museum would hold one's attention for very long, but it is a nice place to go for a few hours to learn and have fun.
Hertz
employees at hertz were generally nice. the only problem was that they had trouble getting me the car that i requested. after it was sorted out, hertz overall is a good place.
Poway Fun Bowl
every time i bowl at poway bowl something goes really wrong. My ball is lost in the system or it takes virtually an hour to fix a lane. If you only go bowling once a year poway would be okay i suppose but if you go any more often, go somewhere else.
abercrombie kids
It is hard to believe that Abercrombie still continues to 'thrive' in malls all over America. The clothes (99 percent of the time) look ridiculously 'worn' and stupid and are way overpriced. The people that work there are usually idiots.
Sunset Bowl
Sunset has lots of parking and many lanes so it is usually easy to get in a game or so if there isnt a league game going on. The prices are pretty reasonable for shoes and lanes. A little shady to take kids as there is a bar (alcohol).
As far as I can tell it doesnt break down more than any other place.
The only other thing that doesn't make it five star is that the little animations that it plays after every bowl seem brilliant at first but after you've played a game or two you've seen every clip and they get tedious.
Bath & Body Works
Bath and Body Works is a great place to indulge yourself in when you have the time and the money. They have a wide expanse of products (lotion, shampoo, etc) for women and some for men. Great place to stop by and pick up a gift for a friend.
Bakkers Driving School
I don't know if the DMV has heard or not - but Drivers Ed has been proven to have NO effect on teen driving safety. So why are teens all over america still being forced into 8 hour classes of monotony? The teens of america do not need another reason to consider suicide. The class attempts to teach in a cruel grueling eight hour period what could be summerized more thoroughly by a twelve year old in two hours.
The desperate pleading to die on the spot that this class invokes is caused in a large part by the teachers. Such instructors can't seem to say what they mean in an hour what they shoudl be able to convey in a few short sentences. They also seem just as bored. The school would be much better (they do have some good aspects - the Bakker book which has sample test questions) if they shortened the class to only 3 hours and hired professional teachers to get the damn job done.
take the class online, and save yourself 80 bucks and 36 hours of your life.
SeaWorld San Diego
Again, sea world, the zoo, the wild animal park - all held a much greater appeal when I was much younger. Sea World's "rides" are at the very least rudimentary and nothing to rave about although they have some thrill and score a little for being in an animal park. It always seemed that once you've walked around any park like this the mentality was that it never changed, you only had to see it once and nothing changed much.
Boomers
Boomers is getting to be in the stage often reffered to as a "has been" or an old memory. It doesn't have the same appeal as it did when I was younger (the rides are angled for the lower ages anyway) and the place is getting run down. Despite this, it has the classic game of mini golf and a small arcade.
Benihana
Some people might be put off by the group seatings (often more than one party to a table) but in the end, Benihana has great food and is a great way to meet new people. The waiters preform the classic antics and throw in some new ones to entertain the kids. There is, however, often a long wait so reservations are definately recommended. Be prepared for a long commitment, but a brilliant night out.
