The past couple of years, I have had the chance to work with this law firm. They handle primarily litigation, real estate, personal injury and bankruptcy, divorce cases. I met several of the lawyers as well as their staff. I found that their lawyers have a great diversity here with all levels of experience, backgrounds and knowledge. They have a lot of satisfied clients and the firm is very professional but still pretty down to earth. They have a lot of integrity and compassion toward your situation and they are fairly competitive with their rates.
Need some Spring cleaning done? Have a huge build up in your garage filled with trash? This is a good place to check out. We had a bunch of old furniture and trash that we wanted removed before our new stuff living room and bedroom set would arrive. We found him in the local paper and called in the morning and he was there around noontime. Great service, they stuck to the price quote and were professional and fast.
I know for many of us it can be a difficult decision to choose a nursing home for a loved one. This is one place that helps to make it a little bit easier. A relative of mine was recently admitted here. It's a pretty modern building, two stories, with a good staff, fairly attentive, the room is a pretty good size with nice furniture and cable tv. There is a small but charming cafe that kind of gives it a homey feel.
I love this place! It's not pretty, and it's about 30 degrees inside (not joking), but they sure have some great things for even greater prices. I wanted a small dinette set to put in my living room so I started looking around and remembered this place I had gone past so many times. I decided to stop in and I'm glad I did. They had some quality furniture (including Ashley sets for about 40% off retail) and the owner of the place will even "make you a deal" if you're extra sweet :) I ended up getting a cute set for a super price, and when I expressed interest in a gorgeous painting hanging on the wall, the manager sold it to me for half the cost. The best thing? I went in on a Friday around 4:00 and my furniture was delivered the next morning! Now that's what I call great service. Check them out.
My brother and his friends started talking about this place many years ago, so I wanted to check it out. I'm glad I did. You can't eat inside, so you get everything to go. During nice weather, there are a couple small tables and chairs outside the store. They are famous on the Northwest side for their fresh fish. You can buy shrimp, catfish, any other variety of fish you can think of, as well as fried veggies by the pound. They also sell cole slaw, macaroni and potato salads, as well as a small selection of snack food items and condiments. I love the shrimp and cod pieces, as well as the salads. They are excellent. If you are a fisherman, you can bring in your catch and they will have it smoked for you. The best thing is that they are NOT "the man." They are an indie store and they deserve our attention.
This is a great little place to get fruits and veggies, but what I love about this store is the meat department. IMO, they beat the supermarkets with their prices and quality. You can get real ground sirloin for about $2 less per pound than most "big boys" grocery stores. Excellent chicken and fish. They also sell a lot of Krakus Ham here at about half the cost of Jewel or Dominick's. Good bakery rye bread and pastry items too.
I have worked with so many temp firms, but this one is the best. This place is a spin off, if you will, of one of my old temp agencies, Appropriate Personnel. When the man who ran Appropriate decided to retire, one of the former employees opened their own firm. I have known the owner (Sari) for over 15 years. She works with a lot of reputable and respected clients (mostly law firms). Temp Time is fair to employees with good rates, same week pay and a lot of flexibility. Many of their jobs turn into permanent placement. If you are between jobs or need some extra cash, give them a call and tell them Pat and Insider Pages sent you in :) They are the only agency I worked with that I would recommend to anyone else.
This tiny (and I mean TINY) little bakery is filled with some super deals. They are very basic, nothing fancy. But boy, are they good. I have been going here for years and when you see the lines wrapped around the block, you'll know why all these other people are stopping by as well. They don't have much in the way of variety, but what they do sell is first rate. You can pick up warm rolls right out of the oven for about 15 cents. They also sell those giant chocolate chip and candy sprinkle cookies and some tasty cake slices. I'll tell you how great their prices are: the last time I went, I picked up things for my family and myself. I got 6 rolls, several cookies, and a couple cake slices. For about $5!! The other big draw of this place is that they are constantly baking and even stay open 24 hours. Small parking lot and street parking available.
Some years ago I was searching for a new Church home. This is one of the places I visited along the journey. I must say it's one of the most powerful and soul stirring Churches I have ever visited. The Spirit is alive here, with preachers who preach the Word with passion and conviction, lots of praising and wonderful music and you leave here feeling charged up and ready to tackle the world. They have a lot of programs for adults and children too.
PROS: Very Spirit filled and enriching Church
My sister recommended this place to me about 15 years ago (they were located at the time on Belmont). I started going to this place to get my hair styled, nails done and other things to make me look all girly and cute. The only person I ever requested back then for a cut was Joseph. He's amazing. And he's still there all these years later. It's on the pricey side, but once in a while, we all need to be pampered.
