I had to have two orthopedic surgeries after a major accident at ENH. My doctor, Dr. Karaikovic from ENH Orthopedic Surgery was great all through my long treatment. He is very proficient and encouraging. His staff is great also, did not have the slightest problem at any of my office visits. I recommend him to everyone. I would definitely recommend to anyone having related problems
American Girl Place has a huge store on Michigan Avenue, the Magnificient Mile in downtown Chicago. They display and sell famous American Girl dolls together with all kinds of clothing and accessories for the dolls. They also sell matching clothes and accessories for little girls. This amazing store houses a movie theater, a doll hairdresse, and a restaurant. You can have a birthday party or a tea party for your little princess and her friends. Could be an expensive addiction though, so be careful.
Century Theatres is a fairly new complex in downtown Evanston. They have two theaters, one of which (Century Arts) shows movies with more artistic value. They show many movies at the same time and have a great student discount. You can also stop by the Wolfgang Puck's which is downstairs for a few drinks. Right across the street is the Borders bookstore and public parking. With validation from the theater you can get up to 4 hours free parking.
This salon in downtown Evanston offers great haircuts at reasonable price. The staff is very friendly, salon is really clean. You might need and appointment especially in the weekends. I have not tried other services but they offer a good variety of personal care services like waxing, manicures and pedicures.
This is a very good speciality shoe store in downtown Evanston. They have a good selection expecially on casual and comfort shoes. For good prices, wait for the end of season when they have gradual markdowns.
This supermarket offers a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and ethnic groceries. Prices are much cheaper compared to national chain grocery stores and produce is always fresh. You can try all kinds of ethnic food. I especially like the feta cheese and the wide variety of breads.
I have been to Omni once for a haircut and had a really bad experience. It was very nic elooking and had a special for NU students, so decided to give it a try. My haurcut was terrible, took harwork to fix later and they charged me more than the NU special price I don't know why. I would never go there again.
This is a small local supermarket, very close to Northwestern University Campus. Limited selection, famous for its hotdogs and Greek specialities. I would consider if Ilived close by and was out of a few things. Limited selection is a disadvantage.
This is a tiny storefront that cells basic necessities. Right across the street from Northwestern University Graduate Houses (Engelhart Hall). They also sell telephone cards and rent videos. Poor selection, OK service
It is a fun place to shop for the adventure seeker or for someone who like casual clothing and shoes. They have a wide variety of gear for outdoor sports as well as nice clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. Cute stuff for kids too.
