J2 Cleaning Las Vegas
Honest, friendly, professional, and clean cut. They were running a little late, but they called and let me know. My mother is super picky and she was 100% satisfied with their service. The technician was polite and patient while my mom asked him to go over certain areas. These people aim to please. I would recommend them 100% based on the level of service I received. They quote based on square footage and they measure using a laser light. There are no hidden fees.
Ann Road Animal Hospital
I bring my dog here for boarding and shots. The staff and vets are nice. The inside is clean. The outside sometimes needs a little pick up, but it's usually ok. The rates are reasonable and I've never had to wait too long.
Sushi Wow
We live in North Las Vegas and usually travel to Green Valley for good sushi. We have tried a lot of sushi places and most are fair. I've only been to Sushi WOW this one time, but I knew I had to share with the rest of Las Vegas. This place just opened and it's really small and you probably wouldn't try it unless you're a sushi fan who will try any sushi place close to home. My daughter and I loved it. The place was deserted and I thought I was going to be in trouble, but the food was great. It was fresh and it was flavorful. It's Chinese owned and they are brand new, but I was just expecting it to be ok, but it was great. They definitely are still working some things out, but the cooked stuff as well as the raw stuff was all tasty. I hope my future visits will still be good. Of course I'll update this review if it isn't.
Update: 3-20-07
This place is under new ownership and is actually even better than before.
Renaissance Ceramic Pools
I think they have just gotten too busy in Las Vegas and have not added the staff to compensate. They never followed up with me at any point. When people didn't show up for weeks and weeks, I would have to call and try to find out what the delay was. It did not take the 8-10 weeks like they said. Although I was not in a rush since I started in the winter, I was very disappointed in the service. Also, the price you pay is just for the pool, pump, and 3 feet of decking. Everything...and I mean EVERYTHING else is a separate contract with the subcontractor they use. Ceramic pools are expensive and it's what I wanted, but there were really only 2 choices in Las Vegas. The other company had a bad product and lawsuits, so I knew better than to use them, but then you're left with no one else but Renaissance. Yes, they were always nice and friendly, but it takes forever to get issues resolved.
Square Colour Salon.Spa
I come for haircuts mainly, but they have other salon services (just take a look at the website). Personally, I like salons that have a trendy docor, as well as a trendy staff. Of course they also have to have a skilled group of cosmetologists. This place has it all. It's a bit pricey, but most of the good salons are about the same price or more. They are about the same price as Euphoria salons, but Square has a better atmosphere. There is sometimes parking challenges, but it's worth it.
Bangkok 9 Thai-Chinese Food
If my friends didn't take me here first, I never would have gone. It's not very visible and it doesn't look like anything special from the outside. The inside isn't all decked out either, but the food and service are FANTASTIC. Lunch portions are pretty small, but it's not expensive, so you can order a bunch of varieties. If you like Tofu, the Tofu salad is excellent. I live in North Las Vegas, but I will definitely travel to Henderson for this place.
Leslie's Swimming Pool Supplies
They basically have what you need, but nothing special. They are reasonably priced and have sales and coupons they mail out regularly. I never seem to see the same person there more than once. Sometimes you get someone knowledgable, and sometimes not. Easy parking and easy in and out.
Paul Lee's Chinese Kitchen
Finally a good chinese restaurant on the north side of town. It's a little bit like PF Changs, but a bigger menu and variety. They also have a kids menu that comes with a booklet, chopsticks helper, crayons, and chinese finger toy. It's a new restaurant right next to Outback on Craig, near Simmons. The decor is colorful and clean. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable. We went for lunch and there was plenty of parking. Even if you go for lunch, order off the regular menu instead of the lunch menu because the lunch menu is only half portions and you only save $1-$2. Leftover Chinese food to take home is always great anyway. Since it's so new, we'll be coming back to this place and updating this review as needed.
Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt
This place has great frozen yogurt with zero fat. I can't believe it's frozen yogurt because it is so creamy. The service has always been good. They have 4 tables inside, which usually has room. They seem to always be cleaning the floors because the white tile gets dirty pretty fast. It's located in the Albertson's shopping center on the corner of Ann and Simmons. It's wierd that they are closed on Sundays, but I guess everyone needs a day of rest. It's very reasonably priced and they are not stingy with the serving size. You seem to get more when you have more than one flavor in your cup.
Nhu Lan
We've only had the vietnamese sandwiches which are delicious. They are only 2.50/each and if you buy 5, you get one free. They must be doing well because they've doubled their size and it always has customers. It's located in a run down plaza that is diagonally across the street from the Chinatown plaza. There is a young girl there(I think she is the daughter) and she is very nice and speaks English. The other people don't really speak English, but they're nice.
