This toy store located downtown is crammed floor to ceiling with educational toys, looking cluttered and making it near impossible to find anything specific. Further, this toy store is very over priced. Overall I was not impressed.
I admit to being a "gymbo addict" and I find shopping at the Grand Traverse Mall Gymboree to be the best place to feed the addiction. Although smaller than a big city store, I still find pieces I fell in love with online almost always in the size I need. Usually a small staff, but if an employee is available they will likely always offer to help you out with any questions.
I love to shop and I find The Children's Place located at the Grand Traverse Mall to be a very fair, very clean and a good priced alternative to national chains. Staff is usually very helpful.
The Osh Kosh outlet located at Horizon Outlet Centre is one of the best children's clothing shops in the city. The prices are fair, the return policy is wonderful (i.e. as long as you have a receipt you can always take an item back - even months later) and the staff has always been overly helpful (even babysitting my children when I shop!)
I admit to being skeptical of a big name like Borders when it first came to Traverse City - after only a few visits they made me a belivers. Great coffee, great help and a very relaxing atmosphere.
If looking for a place to relax after a busy day of shopping in downtown Traverse City, look no further than North Peak. Located within walking distance of the local shopping district it is the perfect place to relax with good beer, good food and a great waitstaff.
