Having had the (unfortunate) occassion to use towing companies many, many times, I was delighted when I stumbled across Two Bit Tow of San Diego. Gone are the days when I paid top dollar for a tow. I now know that I can call up the towing company and feel like my car is in good hands and my checkbook isn't being depleted by leaps and bounds! The staff is kind and friendly and gets to you quickly, leaving you stranded by the side of the road for as short a time as possible. Having spent over two hours waiting for a tow before, this was a nice change and between the quick pick-up and low prices, they have made a customer for life!
Need an auto parts store that stocks any VW part you could possibly need? Tired of having to order parts online or wait for your local store to get them in stock? Vee Parts and Accessories rocks! They know their stuff and are more than willing to help you figure out what you need when you aren't quite sure what to do! Their prices are outstanding and I have never left there unhappy OR empty-handed. Give them a try and you will be glad you did!
What a wonderful children's bookstore! They feature a wide variety of children's books, and are quite knowlegable about all they sell. They also host author's talks, and what a joy it is to get to hear a children's author and leave with an autographed keepsake that your children will cherish for years to come.
I have been a Curves member in El Cajon for a few months now and have been so pleased with the entire experience! The staff is awesome and encouraging, greeting you by name and making you feel comfortable. It is an all women environment and for anyone who feels self-conscious working out in front of men, it makes for a very relaxing atmosphere, where you feel like you can just be yourself. The clientele varies in age, from teenagers to senior citizens and it is great to see so many different age groups working out and getting/staying healthy!
Tortilleria Salsa is a small neighborhood store, specializing in Mexican foods, produce, etc. They have a small "to-go" business, and also sell fresh meats such as carne asada. Our favorite thing to purchase there is their outstanding salsa and homemade tortillas. The tortillas melt in your mouth, they are so delicious! No party at our house is complete without a big container of their salsa and some of their tortilla chips!
Sunday mornings at Parkway Bowl is family time! They lower their rates ($7.50 an hour) and make it quite an affordable Sunday activity for the family. They have bumpers that you can raise and lower, so the entire family does not have to suffer through using bumpers, just because a younger child requires them. They have plenty of lightweight balls for small children and are very patient if they have to come to your lane and rescue a ball that a child pushed too lightly and got stuck halfway down the lane! :) We really enjoy bowling with our kids there, and the fact that they really try to make it a family atmosphere.
Startech Computers is always my first choice, when looking for anything computer hardware related. The staff is quite knowlegable and their prices always come in lower than anywhere else in town. I have also used them for computer repair and found them to be both speedy and reliable.
We have used Tags VCR repair on a number of occasions and have never been let down. They offer fast service and are very reliable and honest. Their repair prices are very reasonable and their turnaround time was fast! Their location looks a bit dumpy, but their service more than makes up for it. They fixed our first TV 11 years ago and it is STILL going strong. :)
Nicolosis has been around for ages, formerly located on El Cajon Blvd., before the I-15 displaced it! A delicious Italian menu, from the basics to a few more intricate dishes, they always shine! Each meal we have ever eaten there has been fantastic, from Torpedos to pasta, pizza to salads. Their original Italian dressing is delicious and available in take-home bottles. Excellent bread and a complimentary relish dish with each meal. Fun for a casual date, also very family friendly. Moderate prices.
We found this hotel to be a satisfactory place to stay, but nothing more. The decor was out of date and dingy, but to their benefit, there was a note in the room stating that they are in the middle of remodeling. The comforter and mattress were new, and the mattress quite comfy. The pools were well maintained and there were an adequate number of towels poolside. We did not try the on site restaurants. All in all, we would stay there again, but would not expect anything more than the average hotel, nothing fancy.
