I watched this place got built from old buildings into the awesome ball park that it is now. It is huge and in a great location, at the heart of downtown San Diego. Parking is pretty hard to find though, so catch the trolley instead. Come a couple of hours before the game starts and maybe catch a bite at nearby restaurants to avoid the crowd and so you wouldn't feel the need to buy overly priced hotdogs.
This restaurant has a pretty good selection of Chinese food and other sorts of not-so-Chinese food like sushi [although their sushi is not good at all]. They also serve American food like mashed potato and mac and cheese for the picky eaters. Save room for desert because they have good cherry pie.
This place is known for their soups [Chinese cooking style]. They have great chicken noodle soup. The noodles are not soggy [unlike those found at other soup houses] and there are huge chicken breast chunks. Their beef noodle soup is awesome too. The soups come with vegetables too although you can ask for them without if you wish.
Red Ribbon makes awesome pastries. Their cakes are absolutely wonderful and their pastries are the best. This is a Filipino bakery, but surely everyone would love their creations. They're not too sweet, not too rich, but just right. Try their mango cake. It's probably the best mango cake I have ever tasted.
This place is awesome. The food is delicious [try the dolmades, they are excellent]. This is a buffet style restaurant, by the way. The whole place has this great home style family cooking feel, great atmosphere. The restaurant screams of Greece with their decor and live music and entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.
This is an excellent ice cream parlor/coffee place. Most people do not know about the coffee part so most people just get ice cream there. It's situated right at the Imperial Beach pier, literally just a few steps away from the sand. It's definitely a great place to stop by after hitting the waves.
This store carries all kinds of boots from Doc Martens to work boots. When the whole Ugg boot craze was on, this place had them when everyplace else did not and they were priced much lower than all the other stores. They also sell pretty good sandals both walking and hiking.
This place is owned by a sweet lady who gives great haircuts. She knows what will look good with your head. She also styles, perms, dyes and all that other stuff. She also sells beauty products. Theres a woman there who gives a great manicure also, though I'm unsure if she still works there.
This is the place to go to get fun pictures taken for a low price. You can get dozens and dozens for under $50. They have a bunch of background options and offer group rates. The photo quality is not so great though. It all comes up too cloudy and details are lost.
This is a nice church with a pretty strong following. The head priest, Father Bruce is a cool guy who exudes a laid back attitude [at least that's what he seems like]. The church itself is pretty small, but they're working on getting a bigger one built soon, so come early if you want to be seated during the service. They offer counseling there also and religion school for the kids.
