Lee Nails is located inside Vista Ridge Mall on the second floor near Dillards (Entrance #2).
I am VERY picky when it comes to my nails and eyebrows. When I first started going, I sort of "tested the waters" by having one service at a time.
Their technicians have tons of experience and though acrylics are nice, you cannot go wrong with the solar nails. The price is very affordable for solar (the cheapest I've found), but quality does not suffer for price.
Also, they wax your eyebrows for $8, and it's quick and does wonders for brightening your eyes.
PROS: Best solar nails! Best price too!
CONS: They schedule, but sometimes double book appointments.
We especially love the Irving Arts Center for their plays and kids workshops. I like going there, because it's never the same thing twice. My daughter likes the hands on crafts, and how you sometimes can participate in the puppet shows or even make your own puppet. Nice neighborhood location, and super clean facility.
PROS: Always something new.
I went into Busy Body to buy a very low end elliptical machine, and was pressured and pressured to purchase a huge, high-end machine that I wasn't interested in. Though I tried to be polite and tell the salesman that I did not have the room for something that size, and that I wanted to buy a less expensive one first before making a $2,000 investment, he still pressured me. I asked him to leave me to call my husband and kept my husband on the phone w/me the whole time that I shopped so that I wouldn't have to talk to Mr. Pushy.
PROS: Nice selection.
CONS: Pushy salesman.
I'm not ever sure about Top Hat's dance lessons until the end of the session recital. They put on the best recitals with costumes and all, and even though my daughter thought class was just "okay", she will always remember dressing up for the recital.
PROS: Very nice recitals.
CONS: Also very pricey.
I was at a birthday party and the parents had a kiddie cake and an adult cake. The adult cake came from Willie Maes. Even though I was low-carbing, I couldn't pass up a slice, because all of the other parents were talking about how moist and delicious the cake was. It tasted like the cake my late Grandmother used to bake; moist and delicious, just the right amount of frosting, fresh ingredients, and you could taste the butter in every bite.
Run...Don't Walk to Willie Maes
PROS: Best cake I've ever had.
I used a coupon to have some film processed at Wolf. Their development of my photos was second to none. They explained that someone looks at each photo and adjusts whatever needs to be adjusted to make the photo perfect. And my pictures absolutely were PERFECT. I go to them for enlargements now, and highly recommend their processing though I've never purchased a camera there. They also have a selection of BEAUTIFUL frames.
PROS: Processing is superior.
CONS: A little pricey, but worth it.
You get what you pay for when you visit this SuperCuts. I selected them, because a couple of college students told me that it was where they got their hair cut. Unfortunately I forgot to ask which stylist cut their hair, and I ended up w/someone new who did not have much experience cutting "ethnic" hair, but said that she would like to learn.
It was clean and though the stylist was nice. I was looking for someone w/experience. Or she should have told me BEFORE she started the cut, so that I could have made my own choice of whether or not to have her do my hair.
PROS: Good price.
CONS: Okay hair cut.
My husband loves Sport Clips. It's conveniently located in a strip mall just west of Vista Ridge Mall. He drops in to get a haircut. They usually laugh, because he gets it all shaved off, but they do a great job. Sometimes, they trim the ear hair, nose hair, and they always clean up his neck area.
I like the service just because they clean the ear and nose hair. My husband won't do that himself, and they know that his wife HATES it. So, that's WORLD CLASS SERVICE to me.
And great prices too.
PROS: Great Prices!
Rockbrook Elementary is one of the schools in the Lewisville Independent School District.
Just 3 years old, Rockbrook has grown tremendously in size. Last year they had to add two new Kindergarten classes, and who knows what is in store for this year.
Mrs. Gonzales & Mrs. Rote are the best kindergarten teachers HANDS DOWN. The principal Mrs. Abshier is a hands-on principal who works hard to keep Rockbrook excelling at such great rates.
If only the PTA could get on track. Many volunteers quit after working one event, because the PTA just stands by and complains about how hard volunteering is while they are waiting for their nails to dry. If they don't "invite" you in, don't expect to run for any office, because they will pull out all of the stops to make sure that you aren't even considered.
That's the only reason I give Rockbrook Elementary 4 stars. If you could exclude their PTA, they would receive 5 stars all the way!
PROS: Great teachers & friendly, helpful, caring staff.
CONS: BEWARE of the PTA.
There were so many pros when we moved into Chapel Hill that we decided to make this apartment community our home until we move into a house. Currently, we are looking for somewhere else to live.
In their million dollar renovations, they have taken away all of the things that made us want to live here.
1. Sodas and hot dogs daily @ the White House. Gone
2. Saturday brunches w/more than stale bagels and pre-packaged muffins. Gone.
3. The best parties that you could win gift certificates to the mall & Bed, Bath & Beyond. Gone
4. Parties and events catered only to kids. Gone.
The attitudes of the staff reflect people who are more interested in new residents than keeping their current residents happy.
PROS: Pretty on the outside.
CONS: You don't know what's going to change from day to day.
