I love going to a place where they know what they are talking about. I tried four different hardware and variety stores to get a vacuum cleaner belt, until it dawned on my to simply go to the source. Within minutes of walking in the door, I found my belt and was on my way. They also serviced my sewing machine and it now purrs like a kitten.
We've been taking our cats here for years. The Vets are very caring and very compassionate. They will ask you how you feel about your pet (family, companions, just pets) and treat you accordingly. They were very helpful in getting us to the appropriate specialists when needed. They do understand that sometimes you have to weigh the cost of care versus the well-being of the animal, and quality of life.
I could not believe how big this place was - and the prices are incredible. I paid only $20 for a yard of gorgeous apholstery fabric. It easily rivals Poppy (which I love), but the prices are amazing. This is definitely a little gem.
There really isn't anything that different about this nail salon than any of the others. Maybe it's a bit bigger, maybe they have a few more people on staff so you don't have to wait as long, but it's still "crank 'em in and crank 'em out". Prices are reasonable (same as all of the others), and the location is good (on Lakeshore, near the Papyrus Store).
I don't know what its like to attend class here, but I can say from experience that there's nothing wrong with getting a massage from someone who's still learning. They can still be very relaxing and very theraputic - and Cheaper! Do call to find out when you can get in on their inexpensive massages. They seem to be a bit limited in times, but if you can plan ahead, it's worth the discounted price.
Bet you never thought you needed a fire breathing nun - well, if you do, this is the place to go. They have fun soaps,.candles, cards, jewelry, a small book assortment, some baby items, a few fun handbags and socks, and then those crazy tchotchkes.
We liked some particularly irreverent items - maybe a fire breathing Jesus, but there's so much more....
You just can't beat the location - right alongside your favorite produce market, wine shop, and specialty foods store. They always have a lovely assortment and are happy to help you put together a gift bouquet.
I have never had them ship or deliver, so no feedback on that.
There's a reason why Red Hanger is often on the Best Of list for East Bay businesses. They provide a great service, have decent pricing, and they are just plain nice people. They do good alterations as well.
We've been going to Andy for years. My husband is a musician, as is Andy, so he really knows the ins and outs around what is and isn't deductible for a self-employed musician - or for any self employed person. Andy is honest and has always had very fair prices. We'll keep working with Andy until the day he stops doing taxes for other people.
The massages are quite good - no complaints. The facials are also quite good - no complaints. The pedicures are done in their front window, which quite honestly, when you're paying for a spa pedi, you simply don't want the people on the street staring at you as you're getting your service.
My complaint is simply the prices. You pay Spa prices for decent service, but the atmosphere is just lacking that of any nice day spa. I want soft music, a place to sit, a robe and a cup of tea while I wait. I don't want to wander around just looking at their products, listening to the staff discuss their weekend or evening plans.
