This is like a warehouse! This big art store is jam back with all the supplies you will need. Weather, it be clay, wood or paint, this store carrys everything, at a super discounted/ wholesale price! Plus, if you are a student, there is always some form of discount (10 or 20% OFF). You kind of have to know what you want going in there, but the workers are pretty handy and helpful. They know what you are looking for if you tell them. Nice.
A Local Favoriate, many local business order their supplies from here. I personally love this place because of the people. They are usually very happy and personable. The displays are really nice, with a lot of open walking rooms. The store has lots of art supplies (if you havent guess yet, Santa Cruz is a very artsy town) for a very reasonable price (better than office max!). They also carry other office supplies at a good price, but dont buy ink/cartridge, too expensive. But located right downtown, it is fun to go in and browse their wonderful display and sales.
Mainly used by photography student at UCSC, this great photo place, not only carry regular photo supply (and development), but a whole variety of stuff. You can make your photo into a slide show, or get materials to make your photos different color. So many varieties, and a lot of frames to choose from. Really friendly and fast service. Among the best photo places in Santa Cruz.
This is a wild store! Go figure there were so many type of socks! The window display is bright and at times weird. But very interesting store. The manager there is really nice, leaves you alone to do your shopping, unless you show interest in getting something. They have a variety of stockings along with funky toe socks and knee socks. Very fun and funky!
This is a wonderful import car maintenance place. Ive enjoyed coming here since I moved to the Bay Area. They do exceptional jobs on Honda, Acrua, Toyota, and even high end cars like BMW and Lexis. The people here are really nice and very understanding. If you dont understand something, they will take the time to explain it to you. If you have a request for something to be done or someplace to leave your car after-hour, they are always accommodating. I Love this place! Best shop all around!
More then a video store, it is full of pink and red. Pink represent all the sanrio, hello kitty stuff that carry there. A section of the store is full of pink merchandises, everything from a big stuffy to a small pen and notebooks, wallets and candy in between. The red represent Verizon, because they are also a carrier of Verizon phone and phone plans. In the back, there is row and rows of different videos (Asian videos). The person is pretty nice and it was an interesting place to go. But nice stuff nonetheless!
Another reason to love San Francisco is because of all the local bookstore. This one is no exception. This is a great store with very friendly service. A lot bigger than most of the bookstores in San Francisco (could rival B & N), it has three levels, with the main level being the biggest. An upstair level where they carry variety of travel books, and best sellers, and downstair (basement) is where all the bargain books are. Only let down is not sitting room or caf, but sticking to the tradition of bookstore, it is well lit and very inviting. Lots of workers up front, so never a line! But when it comes to searching for books, try looking online first and calling in.
This quaint little store carries Japanese antiques from the 18th Century. It has a variety of products varying from the small little dog miniature you see out in the front windows, to big old japanese chest, made of thick redwood. This is a long store (not big, but long), filled with old treasures. There is never more than one or two workers, who are very diligent about keeping their customers happy. A nice place to visit and learn.
Remember in high school when you took your date to golfland?... ahh, the memories.
This past weekend, I went back home and went to Golfland for a fun round of miniature golf. With the hot weather, I also went down their waterslide. this multi-faceted place has a lot of attractions, besides miniature golf. A great arcade with refreshing airconditioning. The staff is ok, they could be nicer, but I don't mind, b/c it's not really about the staff, but about the experience and I had a wonderful time going back to this place.
Fun place to bring kids to and to return to as an adult.
I love this Nail Salon! They have the best, nicest service! My first nail service was done here, the girl in front was very nice about letting us in without an appointment and the ladies there are really nice and funny. If you are a regular, you understand that these women are hard working women who travel far to get here to do this. They are all certified and they do a lovely french tip. They also do acrylic and airbrushing. Before, they had spa service in the back, but now they open up their own day spa next door. Great Place! Nice Nails, and a happy face.
PROS: Wonderful Service
CONS: Nails didn't last as long as I would have liked.
