The Space Family's collection of animals and antiques are second to none. Even the entrance way is filled with history. (It also house the stuffed remains of Goliath; the world's largest bear) This private family owned zoo and museum sits nestled in the woods of Sussex County. Bring a picnic and spend a day wandering the park or touring the building of antique cars and farm equipment. While all the enclosures are not fancy you certainly will see quite a diverse collection of animals.
Pack up the kids and travel back in time to the old west. A visit to Wild West City is like a history lesson on the old west. You can get sworn in as a deputy sheriff and hunt the robbers or maybe you'd prefer to go to the witch trial. The stage coach and train still run in the mystical little city; and somehow get robbed on every run. The general store is a Childs fantasy land and some adults don't mind it either. If your little cowpoke wants to go hunt down those elusive bad guys spend a day in the old west and don't forget to go to the candy shop.
This little park sits nestled in the middle of Warren County. It boarders Jenny Jump Mountain and is fun for young and old alike. The park features rides, a redemption arcade, petting zoo, a complete water park and of course Santa's Barn. You can spend your day floating in the lazy river or madly spinning in the tea cup ride. The shady paths wander past a magical forest of candy canes and to an interactive children's theater; there is plenty of fun for everyone. If you climb the stairs to the top of the barn you can even visit Santa at summer retreat.
This is wonderful day trip or weekend activity to combine with one of the other Philly area attraction; we coupled this with the NJ aquarium. The zoo is quite expansive so wear good shoes. Your best buy is the combo pass that includes pony rides, Camel rides, boat rental and a hot air balloon ride for the best view of the city and the zoo. Picnic lunches are allowed and zoo is very clean. Don't miss out on the Wild Earth simulators; they're great.
This zoo is the perfect oasis right in the middle of Manhattan. Just a few short blocks from Bloomingdales is an excellent excursion for young and old alike. The Central Park Zoo may be the best buy in NYC. The rainforest exhibit is delightful and who doesn't love polar bears and penguin. Just outside the zoo proper is a wonderful little petting zoo (included in the price of admission) that is a huge hit with the little ones
This zoo is a perfect day trip for those with children. They have a cute little train ride along the reservior and also a newly installed farm area. The price is very affordable and the atmosphere is wonderful. They offer various classes for children and have daily hands-on demonstrations in the reptile room. The zoo is hilly so bring your walking shoes and pack a lunch if wish; there is huge picnic area.
While I find the idea of this facility wonderful and the selection of things they have more than adequate; the condition of the facility is a big problem. The staff is often no where to be found and the games and rides seem to spend a lot of time "out of order". They have a small reptile room and offer a variety of birthday party options; unfortunately they don't seem to be able to keep the facility clean. If the older kids want to play video games it isn't so bad but the kiddies area just isn't sanitary enough for my liking.
This is wonderful little boardwalk park for families with children. There is a great selection of rides for the little ones and the prices are great. The Kiddies Day passes for ten dollars are the best buy on the Jersey shore. The water park that is across the street is a hit with the e tween crowd and even the little swimmers. Don't forget to stop by for the weekly fireworks show.
This is a small family oriented amusement park that is geared to smaller children. There a few rides that the teen crowd may enjoy but they are generally carnival like. I found the park to be clean and the staff to be courteous. I would recommend them for playgroups or birthday parties. The party room is adequate and all the kids seem to enjoy the rides that are available.
There is an arcade with coin redemption games for rainy days or a break from the heat.
This is the best entertainment group I have found. Not only are they professional and funny; they are inexpensive. We truely enjoyed the magic show and the balloon animals were wonderful. The entertainers actually seem to enjoy children and all the mishaps that they can cause. They are a great bang for your party buck and seem to be able to entertain all ages at the same time.
