This bed and breakfast is very close to Penn State University. It is a great choice if you are in town for a football game or to visit a loved one. It is a large mansion that has stood the test of time. Its interior and exterior are just beautiful, with no details looked over. The artwork and other dcor is a perfect addition to the building itself. The exterior is very dark and almost castle-like. It is an impressive place to stay and the rates are pretty decent.
This Inn is somewhat on the small side, which I personally like. The building is over 200 years old, yet some of the original features remain which I think is really great. If you are visiting a student at Penn State, this is a great choice because it is really close to the Uuniversity. The scenery is great, and includes a mountain view. There are plenty of biking trails nearby, as well at skiing in the winter and golfing pretty much year round. Shopping is also fantastic in this area. Call early because this inn books up quickly!
This is a wonderful historic building located smack in the middle of the historic district. That being said, it is super close to everything. They have 18 guest rooms, which is more than most similar inns have to offer. They even have two bedroom suites available for families or larger parties. This is a great place to come at any time of the year. Rates are a bit high, but not out of the ballpark. The staff was very hospitable and was respectful of any additional requests.
This Inn is very nice and actually offers ocean view rooms. It is very near the ferries, so it is easy to take day trips to the locations nearby. The rooms are a good size, and each has its own bathroom and heating and a/c controls. This is very romantic and makes for a great weekend getaway. The breakfast is usually expansive, with plenty of options for everyone. Other great things to mention include the putting green, exercise area and huge deck to relax upon. The staff and other guests were so nice and helped make the stay a great one.
Beechwood is one of my favorite bed and breakfasts in this vacation area. The rooms are very large and so comfortable. The breakfast is out of this world each morning, and is served in the beautiful dining room. It sits on a nice plot of land, so you feel secluded from the rest of the community. The price to stay here is mid-range. I would choose this bed and breakfast if you are looking for somewhere a tad more romantic and quiet.
The Bursley Manor is a very peaceful retreat that at one time was a working barn. The Manor is a large home that can hold quite a few guests at a time. Every single guest room has a private bathroom, as well as a TV, VCR, and Internet access. Breakfast is really scrumptous here, as all the ingredients are fresh and cooked just right. It is situated at a nice location and there are nearby bike trails, bird watching sites, and water sports.
The Inn at the Oaks is set back among mature oaks for a truly restful, scenic stay. It is located very close to the beach so you can walk there each day in a matter of minutes. This is one of the more family-oriented bed and breakfasts around. They have all sorts of great amenities, especially for business people who may need a fax machine, copier, or other office-type things. For everyones enjoyment, there is A/C, ceiling fans, fridges, and a BBQ grill. I really like the location of this Inn and highly recommend it. You can even bring a pet! They serve a delicious breakfast, and you can even enjoy your meal on the porch.
The Village Green Inn is a historical bed and breakfast and is really a joy to stay at. The atmosphere is welcoming and the entire place is so carefully decorated with antiques and soothing colors. I thought the inn was ultra clean, and there was enough modern elements to make the stay even more enjoyable. Many guests enjoyed the fireplaces and porches. To keep you occupied, they have a piano and board game collection. They offer nice amenities like bathrobes, alarm clocks, and hairdryers in each room. This is a moderately-priced bed and breakfast that is worth every cent.
Clio is a fantastic store with beautiful and elegant goods. They carry items such as candleholders, vases, glasses pitchers, tray, teapots, flatware, linens, and lighting. They really have something for everyone. The merchandise is mostly made of glass or ceramic, but they do have some metal pieces. Their light fixtures are really great and functional, and their linens are luxurious. This store is a lot of fun and is a wonderful shop to pick up gifts.
