Lunker's has an unbelievable selction of ourdoors equiptment, including supplies for hunting, camping, fishing, etc. The staff seems helpful and knowledgable, but sometimes get overwhlemed by the popularity of the store. Weekends seem to be extremely busy, so its much easier to get time to browse during the week. I'd definitely recommend it to hunting/fishing enthusiasts. They will be in heaven!
The IMAX is just wonderful! ITs such a neat experience to see movies on there. It does tend to get crowded, so make reservations for your showtime early, and be warned, that theater was somewhat cold, so bring a sweater. The rest of the space center is fabulous also, with lots of cool exhibits and things to see.
Fernwood is a great place for families, or anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Their nature trails are well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful and extremely knowledgable. They often have classes, which can be fun for all ages too. Its worth it to plan a couple visits here, to see the different parts of the park in different seasons. Admission prices are reasonable.
The Museum of Science and Industry is just one of those classic places that should be on your must-see list for any Chicago trip. Although some parts are showing their age, they have brought in some new exhibits that are great. One of their new ones has to do with computer-aided manufactering. They have a production line set up making tops. You can actually have a personalized top made as a souvenir! Overall, a great place for all ages!
This is an excellent kid's museum! They have lots of activities for kids to do including a water play area, general playing/climbing toys, animals, a handicapped play area, and much more. Its extremely easy to keep children entertained here, and in fact they usually are worn out before they even get through everything. The spot on the bluff is nice too, and fmilies cna bring a picnic and enjoy the lake scenery.
They do have very good prices on tanning here and lots of good specials going. They change the bulbs frequently, so you can definitely get some good color. Bed their bed's arent monitored closely enough for my liking. I doubt the cleanliness of it, since the staff is usually all busy with hair appointments and there is no one specificially there to watch the tanning. Most people check themselves in for tanning.
I've had very good experiences when tanning with Natural reflections. The place seems well kept up and very clean. The employees are helpful and friendly. Their prices are very good compared to other tanning places, especially if you do the pay-per session and not buy a package. Overall, a very good place for tanning
This is by far our favorite movie theater in the area. They have fiar prices, lots of show times, and you can even purchase tickets online. The staff is friendly and they have lots of policies to keep kids under control. They give free pop and popcorn refills also. And you can fold up the arms on the chairs to get into a more comfortable position. I'd definitely recommend this theater!
Rick's 66 is a good gas station. They have good prices (as they have to stay competitive with the gas station across the street) and the emplyees are friendly. A number of times I have run into extraordinarily slow pumps, so make sure that you go to a pump without someone using the same one, if that's possible.
The Deltaplex is a great place to hold large events. The place is very large and the staff seems very good at handling large crowds. They make sure that food, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. never run out. The smaller rooms that they rent out are somewhat plain, but the large arena has plently of seating. Its a wonderful place for a large event.
