Payne's Florist is a wonderful florist for the Fort Worth area and have a large delivery area. They are a tele-florist so you can order on line and get what you see on the screen. They are wonderful when you call them and will explain the bouquets to you as well as they can. They also have some gifts and make the cutest arrangements with them. The prices are normal for a tele-florist and you get very high quality flowers. A+++++ - order from them if you have to send flowers to Fort Worth.
Preston Hollow Park is a nice park right in the middle of roads and roaring traffic. You can take a nice walk in the wooded area or sit on a bench and watch nature. It is a nice break in the middle of the city. You see a lot of people eating their lunches there and in the fall it is one of the areas where the leaves actually change color in that area. Nice place to take a break in the day or take a nice walk in the evening.
I had to get my dog's nails done and her facial hair clipped and couldn't get in to where we normally take her. I had seen Kountry Kippers many times when I passed it and decided to try them. They got us right in and were very gentle with my puppy. I wanted to go back with them but they would not let me. The did a good job on her face but barely trimmed her nails. I had to go back to my normal groomer a week later to get them done again. I was glad I could get her done in a pinch but they won't be our normal groomers.
It is hard to find people to repair shoes but Bill's Boot and Shoe repair is now my favorite place to get all my shoes repaired. I took in a pair of boots and two pair of shoes- all need to be resoled with leather. I was impressed with the fact that they got them back to me in a week and a half and that you couldn't tell that they didn't come from the store that way. The guy working was very nice and they don't charge an outrageous amount. It was worth it and cost a lot less than buying three new pair of shoes!
I had to get photos enlarged and a large amount of them reproduced and ASA Photos was the cheapest place in town and the quality was better than when I get them done at places like Wal-greens and such. I was very impressed with how quick they got them back to me too! This is a little store and they do seem to get busy with developing from time to time. Their hours make it hard for people who work durning the week to get to them. But other than that- I really was pleased with the service.
Justin Boots Company in Fort Worth is a little boot outlet that does really have some great boots. It is a little hard to find but once you find it- you will love it. They have boots that are irregulars but most of the time you can't find what is irregular about them. The damage is not something that will effect the wear- just the look and you get them at a discounted price. They do have some first run boots but they are much more expensive. The staff is friendly but they normally only have a couple of people working there so you might have to wait to get helped.
Nude Furniture is such a fun store to go to because you get really good furniture for a really good price. I have bought a lot of pieces there and have painted some and stained others. I love their furniture and the prices are very good for the heavy sturdy furniture you get. I have had some problems with having people help me at the store. They don't have a lot of staff in there at one time- other than that- this is a great place. Check it out if you are looking for any kind of furniture.
I was looking for a certain mold for a cake for a birthday party and had looked everywhere and could not find it. I found Elizabeth's Cake Supply in the phone book and called to see if they had it- they were so nice on the phone and looked and found it. They put it aside for me until I could get there and when I got there- I was surprised at how many molds they had as well as other baking items. I did end up with three candy molds that went with our theme too. I have been back many times and gotten a lot of chocolate molds for my christmas candy making. The staff is A++++ and the prices are very good. They can even order in a special mode for you.
If you are looking for a place to pick out a hobby - head over to Hobbytown USA. I first went there to get some Thomas the Train items for my nephew but was amazed with all the different things they have. I have bought beanie babies, train sets, RC cars and much more there. My neices love to go and look. It is a very friendly place and they make the kids feel as welcome as the adults. The staff is nice and helpful with the items. Sometimes it can get busy and it get crowded.
I like to give ballon arrangements to friends for certain occasions and one of my favorite places to go is ALL About Parties. They have a lot of party supplies but they have a balloon counter in the back where you can pick out your mylar balloons and then the laytex balloons in all colors to go along with the mylar balloons. They fill their laytex balloons with a no leak "goo" that keeps them staying inflated longer and their arrangements really do last longer than most places. The prices are very good and they are not normally too busy so you can get in and out quick with your balloons.
