Just walking in this neighborhood is a wonderful way to spend free time, especially in summer. Rose garden definitely is a must see, pure delight for entire family. Harriet Lake commons is a very pleasant, well taken care of, safe area this neighborhood is a real asset to Minneapolis. Oh, and cant beat the free concerts!
This store is full of cute (and sometimes even practical) gift ideas for all of your friends and relatives not lucky enough to live in Minnesota. You will find anything from wild rice and pens to clothing to stuffed moose to wall dcor. Its one of the best stores of its kind and is worth visiting.
This store is so much fun to visit. They have balloons for every occasion graduation, new baby arrival, St. Patricks Day you name it. Wedding balloon arrangements Ive seen are absolutely beautiful. Balloons are available in every color, shape and price range (Im not saying this store is cheap, but it is affordable). Check it out.
For most of my party-related shopping, I go to this place. Greeting cards are cheap here, and youll always find something you like out of many designs they carry. They also sell wonderful boxed Christmas cards those are not as cheap, but are really great for the price. Its also a good place to stock up on gift wrap, napkins (you wont believe how many colors they have in stock!), plastic dinnerware and flatware and balloons.
This guy knows his business well and takes beautiful pictures. He makes the most amazing wedding albums Ive seen. I ended up not hiring him because his services are really expensive (for me, at least), plus he doesnt release your negatives so each reprint will be at his prices. But if your budget allows for it, go ahead - I think you wont be disappointed.
I dont know if I would go to this store to find something specific, but its definitely great for browsing. The store has tons of reasonably priced used books in great condition, really something for everyone. I also like the layout this store doesnt seem as tiny and crowded as most stores selling used books and doesnt have that specific smell. Definitely worth checking out.
I had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. Ballin and had the best experience possible in that situation. In that place, they really take care of you, including doing all the insurance work for you. Dr. Ballin got tons of experience and works quickly and efficicently, takes extra care to prevent dry sockets (surprisingly, not too many oral surgeons do) I even got a call on a weekend from the doctors office they were checking if Im doing OK!
Very good dentist, attentive and gentle. His father was a dentist also, so he has a great amount of experience. I was really afraid of dentists before finding him  All of his assistants are very nice and professional, too. Its a little difficult to schedule an appointment sometimes, especially for convenient hours that are available, but doctor always has a few time blocks for dental emergencies, so if thats the case, hel see you right away.
One of my family members did not have a dental insurance and needed some work done on his teeth. We only had so much money to spend (a few hundred dollars) and they knew that - and they still insisted on doing so much work that was not immediately necessary (like braces - for an adult) that it would run us a few thousand. No matter how much we explained we cant afford it right now, they wouldnt let it go until we made another appointment just so that we can leave and then they kept calling us for another year with their reminders, long after we found a better dentist.
Midwest Staffing is a decent temp blue collar agency. My little brother worked for them when he needed a temp job and pay was not bad for his needs at a time. His staffing supervisor treated him well, was always on top of everything and got him working just a few days after application. The only thing was that sometimes the agency gives a very short notice, but I guess that can be said about any temp agency.
